"You must have hit your head pretty hard earlier," the woman said, placing a loving hand over Aria's bruise. "What happened?" Feeling a bit dizzy, Aria sat down on the foot of the bed. "Ugh," she groaned. The woman sat beside her. "What is it?"
"I have a massive headache." From out of nowhere, the extreme pain inside her head started to grow. She saw a few flashes and blurred images of a little girl playing with a stuffed bear. Then she saw another image, this one of a tombstone, but the letters on it were too blurry to read. Next, she heard echoes of laughing inside her mind, along with a vision of a high school hallway.
"Are you alright?" The woman placed her hand on Aria's. But Aria couldn't see or hear anything outside of the images and noises her mind was projecting on her. One final vision came and went in a flash; it was one of a dark puddle, and in its reflection laid multiple clouds, flames, and her own self. But her hair was much darker, and her eyes were blood red. She held a ball of magic in one hand, and shoved it into the puddle, making the vision and all the others disappear in a cloud of smoke.
"Sweetie—answer me please......are you okay?" The plead of the woman sent her back to reality, in the calm, bright, peaceful, and quiet bedroom. Then, the strangest thing came out of her mouth. "Yes, mother."
Aria couldn't believe what she just heard come out of her own mouth. Even though the words came out, she didn't make them. She wasn't even thinking them. It was like someone was controlling her, putting words into her mouth. It may have been her own voice, but it certainly wasn't her own words.
"Are you ready to talk now?"
"In a minute mother. May I have a minute to myself?" There it goes again. The stream of words coming out that were not her own.
"Of course, dear." She stepped out of the room and gently closed the door behind her.
As soon as she was out of the woman's view, Aria grabbed her forehand and fell back onto the bed. "Get out of my mind!" She tossed back and forth, fighting with the force that had invaded her mind and now her hands too.
Then, all of a sudden, she stopped. Sighing, she got up and headed to the mirror. Her gaze met that of the girl in the mirror's as she looked down to her black hair. Then she paused. "Wait, what am I doing over here?"
"Dinner's ready!" The woman called from the other room.
"Coming!"
And just like that, everything she remembered about herself was gone, and she had evolved into a completely different person.

Tom kicked the worn-out gravel as he continued his journey back home all alone. He had woken up that morning to find his partner in crime gone. He supposed she had bailed on him following the events of last night's fight. He didn't really blame her though, who would want to stick around with someone who had just committed murder? One they had just met and didn't even know the whole story.
He secretly missed her company, her healing jokes and all, but of course he wasn't about to admit that. He had to be strong, like his father taught him all those years ago, back when the feud with Mr. Marigold first began. It was time he learned to do things on his own again, just like before she had even shown up.
As Tom trotted through the forest, he noticed that he was no longer in Bangor. Instead, he found himself deep into a jungle, with a clearing up ahead. Hovering over him was an American flag, colliding with the heavy winds. Curious as to where he had just ended up, Tom began running towards the clearing, with the heavy wind speeds in an effort to hold him back.
