Step 1:
Allow your hamster to adjust to its environment for three days. Don't interact with it.

Step 2:
Introduce yourself to your Hamster. Approach its cage and introduce yourself so it gets familiar with your voice. Try talking to it. But just don't interact quite yet. Do this for the first week you have your hamster.

Step 3:
After one week goes by, began to pet the hamster while it eats. It will relax and enjoy your handling. Let it hide if it want's to. Don't pick it up quite yet. Your almost there though! Continue to talk to it. Do this for about 3-4 days

Step 4:
Hand feed your hamster after it is comfortable with you petting him/her. Don't force it to eat. Let it come to you. Do this for about 3-4 days, maybe longer.

Step 5:
You made it! You can now try to pick your hamster up gently by scooping it up from the bottom. Put a piece of food (Or treat) on your hand and let your hammie climb onto you by itself.

Step 6:
After about two weeks your hamster should be comfortable with you handling it. You can now take it out of its cage and play with it on your bed. Watch for signs of stress though!

Teach your Hammie new tricks!

One of the easiest ways to train your hamster to come when called is with treats. Put your hand in its cage and hold out a few treats while calling its name. Let your hamster eat the treats out of your hand and continue repeating its name in a calm voice.

Start teaching your hamster simple tricks. Like with any training, you need to start off with something simple. The easiest trick to teach a hamster is training them to stand on command. To train this you need to hold a sunflower seed above the hamsters head and with a calm, but firm voice, say ''stand''.
