A TOWN FULL OF GHOSTS
Everyone has their own life now.
We were bound by the town,
Bound by loyalty to the high school that melded us together.
Now everyone is gone.
We were so excited to start our journeys,
We forgot to remember where we came from.
Now we're spread out across the world,
Now everyone is gone.
How is it that one can feel so lonely?
So lonely, yet surrounded by so many people.
No true links here, and none left, because
Now everyone is gone.
The automatic friendships that we had, we are now realizing
That we took them for granted. Nothing is automatic in the real world.
And the more we try, the more we fail, because
Now everyone is gone.
It's really not from lack of trying, as someone may think.
We've opened ourselves up, truly bared our spirits in the desperate attempt to connect.
Some of us succeeded. Some of us didn't.
Now everyone is gone.
No one but a thumbtack is willing to be friends with me anymore,
And he's a toxic one at that. He's an addictive one.
Dangerous. And
Now everyone is gone.
I miss you guys.
Please come back?
Please remember me.
Now everyone is gone.
