TELLING ANOREXIA OFF
Defying you is like trying to defy the
waves of a tsunami coming ashore.
At first, I'm proud for successfully
Surfing the dangerous waves and
Escaping with my life in tact.
The feeling of euphoria, though,
It only lasts for a few minutes.
The winds around me begin to pick up,
My hair whipping around my face until
It stings.
I feel the fury of a god who was
Disrespected.
Disobeyed.
I forwent a sacred and daily ritual,
And that has a price to pay.
I can see the ocean floor.
The wrath is only just beginning.
