Chapter 16 ♡

"Where are you." Panic began to set in.

I could hear a faint clutter of a bottle cap opening over the phone.

Before anyone moved a muscle, I was already running, the pain from seconds before, vanished as electricity sparked throughout my body.

I ran to Greens, I searched her house, and mine, nobody in sight. I ran back to S.T.A.R Labs fast as my legs would carry.

"I'm at, um, my moms house, she's on vacation." Her voice got softer, I ran to Greens once more, angry I didn't think to search her moms house.

My body felt honestly like tv static, like I was so tired, my body was crying to give up, but the electricity forced me to run.

I whooshed into the house almost busting the door off of its frame,  nobody was in sight. I ran with my speed to her room as I saw her.

My bestfriend of 8 years, laid across the floor unconscious. A pill bottle was opened beside her body, a white foam escaped her lips. "Ava!" My voice let out.

I rushed up to her pushing her shoulders trying to get a response, I rushed her to the hospital. I used my speed to the doors and ran in. "My friend Ava overdosed. Help! Help!" Was all I could manage to say.

A few nurses ran out with a small flexible bed loading her in it. They disappeared behind the, "Emergency Response Room." Or ERR. That was for people in serious condition.

My brain twirled in swirls and twists. I can save her, but it will probably kill me, what do I do? What do I do? What do I do? I paced quickly trying to find a solution in the air. Will she be okay? Can I heal her?

I wanted to fall onto the wall in tears, is this out of my control? I paced once more, my head feeling like a floating balloon. My breath got lost in my body.

2 minutes pass

She has been there for me every since I was 8, ever since my sister died. I would do anything for her, even die.

I pushed myself up to the mirror staring at my ruined mascara in the bathroom. Black marks were in a curved line down my cheeks, "Ava, I'm going to save you." I whispered to myself in the mirror.

I pushed the bathroom door wide open jogging around, looking for her room.

R104. The small opening of the room showed her. Ava, she was hooked up to machines, a clear tube stuck in her nose. I rushed through the door, papers flew off the tables.

She looked so... lifeless. I now felt the void she spoke about. The void she didn't know how to fill. How could she do this, I understand she wanted to numb the pain, but to leave everyone? I could never pass that pain on.

I took a seat beside her, it was hard to see her so, gone. Like she wasn't fully there. The big question pushed into my brain. Do I heal her. "Ava, I don't know what to do." I sniffled a bit.

I leaned closer to her as her eyes showed no signs of opening.

"Please, Ava. Wake up okay?" My words were almost mute to the ear.

I placed my palms gently on her shoulders. A tear of mine fell onto her chest as I closed my eyes.

"Emma." Her voice spoke weakly. My eyes shot open, "Ava?" I took off my palms, "What's going on?" I slowly sat down trying to calm down. "You, overdosed."

"No, I mean why was your hands on me?" I bit at my lip and pushed my eyebrows around. "You know," I let a breathless laugh escape.

"Emma, your tics. Tell me." She sat up taking out her clear nose tubes. My eyes were fixed at a crack in the marble tile. The floor seemed so intresting suddenly.

"You know," I whispered.
She shook her head to the side, "Emma, maybe what you think is real, isn't." She knew I was going to 'heal' her.

See, when I was younger I explained my powers, the ones I knew about at the time when I was 10. She didn't beilive me, but I didn't know how to prove it. Now, she probably thinks I'm going phyco again.

"Don't make this about me. You overdosed." I changed the subject.

I was nervous, I mean my bestfriend thinks I'm having a episode or something. I could tell she was weak, the way her voice was choppy and her eyes fluttered slowly.

"Emma, I'm sorry about all of this." She murmerd. "How long have I been out?" I checked my watch, "7 minutes." She smiled, "What'd you do? Fly me here?" I just gave a weak laugh, "I drive fast." I broke my stare at the floor to her.

"So you left Greens." She adjusted herself in the bed, "Yea. I did." A cough escaped my lips as a blood splatter fell into my palm. Oh god. I'm still not healed from my last cure. Blood droplets began to pour from my nose. "Emma?" Worry was filled on her face, I pulled my arm up to wipe the blood away. Another cough escaped me when blood poured onto the floor.

I yanked out my phone and sent off a emergency alert. I wanted to call Cisco or Caitlin, but I couldn't catch a breath. "I'm okay." I whispered trying to wipe off the blood form my hands to my pants. A gust of wind blew papers from the room around in small swirls. "Emma, god what happened?" I nodded towards Ava to let him know. He gave a slow nod.

"I, um." I gave a worried look towards Ava,her eyes were crazy wide. What is she thinking about me right now? The Flash grabbed onto me and ran me to the rooftop. "Why-What's wrong?" I coughed as blood fell onto my hands, "I cured someone. Again." His eyes were wide behind his mask. "I-I didn't know how serious this was so I sent a emergency." He nodded helping me stand.

"I don't feel right." A pain shot to my throat as suddenly a bright light bit at my eyes, I was back to my normal self. No pain, no coughing blood. I stood still on the roof confused on what happened. His arms held my shoulder, "Let's get you to the Lab."

_____

"It seems, you contacted your energy source and used it to heal yourself." Caitlin said tapping things onto a large IPad. "Is that like a speedster thing?" I stared at her in confusion. "No. It's a new thing. It seems to be a new power." Cisco threw his arms into the air, "Emma, how?" I shrugged.
