Chapter 20

"Well, that's the cities superhero, silly!" Iris smiled widely as we entered Jitters coffee shop. "Pht, yea. I know." I lied, whatever is wrong with my memory, Iris shouldn't know.

She will just be asking millions of questions about it, Barry said she was a reporter, and I'm sure she would figure out what happened. And plus I'll be back to normal in 24 hours, I'll just have to blend in until then.

"Speaking of, " she sat down in a booth as I did the same, "you were a reporter from your old town, well. Let's make a fake crime, and catch Flash in it." She pulled out a camera waving it in front of my face.

"Wait, what do you mean to 'catch him'?" She shrugged, "I mean just, get a picture, maybe interview him?" She also pulled out a voice recorder.

I nodded slowly taking it all in, so I remember 'Flash', as in a hero in the city? "Sure..." I spoke slowly still trying to grab at my old memories. "Tonight, 8:00, here at Jitters, I'll trigger the alarm and all will be good." Before I had a chance to speak she was already rushing off.

"Tonight," I repeated. Shit. I won't have my memory back by then.

"Are you okay?" Barry asked as I jogged around in a hurry, "Yea yea, just gotta get ready to hang out with Iris." He watched as I chased the air to grab an apple, "Got to go!" I yelled back as I ran out the door. IM LATE! IM LATE! IM LATE!

My shoes bounced off the road as I was supposed to meet Iris at Jitter 10 minutes ago. It's going to take like what, 20 minutes to jog there?

I pushed my shoes ever faster against the concrete in hope to hurry. "Come on," I complained. I thought that Cisco boy told me I used to jog a lot, why am I so slow?

All a sudden a pink color flashed around my shoes, my eyes widened to their capacity, "What the f-" I glanced up to see a building that was a moment before a half mile away, right in front of my face.

I moved out to the way as everything looked to be in slow motion, "What?" My eyebrows furrowed as I fell to the ground. A cough escaped my lips, I was in front of the coffee shop.

I looked back quickly trying to see if the pink lightning was anywhere to be found, "That's one way to get here." I muttered to myself. What the hell was that?

I stood up and slowly walking inside to spot Iris sitting on the counter, "Girl, about time, come on, I already set everything up." I nodded to her words even though her face still didn't have a place in my head.

All I know is what Barry told me, and it wasn't much. Well not that much that I can remember. "Okay." I still wore a look of pure confusion stamped on my face, but she was too excited to notice.

She lightly readjusted a camera as she then gave me a large smile, "Ready?" I nodded as her thumb pressed the alarm, soon as she did a flash of red appeared. If looked just like the pink I saw moments before.

The guy spoke, "Are you okay?" His voice had a modification on it, that's the mask-wearing guy I saw when I woke up. Does he know me? His eyes widened at me, yup. He knew me. But how?

"What are you two doing here?" He asked a few flashes from the camera lit up the room. "I just wanted to ask a few questions is all." Iris smiled as she pulled out a voice recorder.

"How did you get powers, are you human?" He gave me a laughable look, "Yes, I'm human." His eyes steadied on Iris. His hand shot up to his ear, he had an earpiece in, didn't he?

"On my way." He spoke back gently before speaking to us, "I need to be going." But soon as his lightning sparked up the room, mine did too.

Pink and red danced in the shop, "Wait!" I yelled. He turned around at a normal pace as everything else was completely in slow motion.

"What are you doing!" He asked, his voice no longer had the modification on it, "Oh my God." I whispered.

"You're, you're Barry!" His eyes jolted open, "Wha- no-no. No, I have no idea what, I don't know who that is."

My mouth dropped, "Yea, in the lab you 'went to get him' and then boom in a matter of second he was there." He gave the slow-motion Iris a glance, "Let's just, " he sighed. Meet me at S.T.A.R. Labs in 20 minutes, I have to go do something." With that, he ran off.

I was now in the state with Iris, she now moved at my pace. "Wasn't that great?" She jumped. "Yeah, yea." I was still in shock that Barry is the Flash. And I'm, I'm something to.

After I and Iris left each other, I went to the lab Barry spoke about, I had to Google where it was, but it was pretty close so I walked. I wanted to do that cool slow motion thing, but I couldn't do it again even though I tried.

I made my way to the lab to see as I now know as Caitlin, (Brown-headed girl) Cisco, (Black-headed guy) and Barry. (Brown hair and green eyes.)

"Hi," I spoke awkwardly to the people, I mean to me I just met them this morning when I woke up. Cisco's eyes opened wide, "Mask!" He yelled waving frantically at Barry.

Barry had his Flash suit on but not the mask, "She knows, it's fine." He turned to look at me. His eyes caught mine, "Yeah." I whispered to myself, his dimples shone through a little, "But, I was wondering what we should do about, he you know, knowing." I sat on a rollie chair as I slid across the room.

"Maybe this is for the good, work would be easier," Caitlin suggested. "Work?" I asked jumping from the chair. "I knew it! I'm a fast thing to aren't I?" He let out an honest laugh.

"Yeah, you're a fast thing." I sat back the chair rolling to them. "So, what do I do until I get my memory back?" They all seemed to look questionable at each other. "Just, hang out. I guess." Cisco replied.

I pushed back on the chair tipping a bit, pink lightning bounced across my body as I caught myself onto the floor. "Shit," I muttered now in focus with real time. Barry let out a tiny laugh.

Cisco gave Barry a weird look as Barry spoke, "Good job, I looked away for one second." He let out another short laugh. "Psht. Shut up, you blur." I fake rolled my eyes.

Cisco let out a loud awkward cough, "Okay so, um." All a sudden a gentle alert came through the desk in the room. "Ah. Saved by the crime." Cisco nodded towards Barry. He then pulled on his mask and tapped on his earpiece. Just like that, red lighting flashed, and he was gone.

I rolled my chair to the desk, "I can't believe it hasn't even been a full day yet!" Cisco just nodded, "I mean, I'm a fast hero thingy! How could I forget that?" I wore a dumb grin on my face as I spoke.

Caitlin and Cisco seemed to be more focused on their screens, my shoes lit up pink as I ran out. How could I forget all of this?
