"-AND AS IF BEING STUCK IN DETENTION with her wasn't enough, now I've got to go over to hers' to finish that fucking project" I ranted angrily, rolling my eyes to the sky. Jessica hummed boredly at the other end of the line.

"You're not listening at all, are you, Jessica?" I snapped, and Jessica seemed startled. "Wh-huh? No boo, I was listening. You were going on about how you hate [y/n] [l/n]'s dreamy eyes and perfect hair and beautiful smile-"

"Enough!" I cut her off furiously. "Scream it to the world, why don't you!"

I nearly heard Jessica flinch.

"Anyway," I took a deep breath to steady my temper. "I'm almost there. Call you later, Jess."

"Y-yeah. Love you."

I sighed. "Love you too. Bye"

Ending the call, I shoved my phone into the pocket of my figure-hugging jeans, clutching a few books in my hands.

Being forced to be near [y/n] [l/n] was exhausting me, both physically and mentally. It took a startlingly large amount of my willpower to restrain myself in even a five-metre vicinity of her.

And I still didn't know why it was so hard to look into her swirling eyes without having the strongest desire to kiss her.

I wouldn't. I couldn't. [y/n] was the very opposite of everything I stood for, and I was not letting her interfere with my reputation. But even as I stood there, looking upon her huge family mansion, I knew that today,

I was going to mess up.

"And actually, this synopsis is probably the most difficult of the lot, but you don't need to worry. Just remember that adenine always combines with thymine, and guanine with cytosine. That never changes. This is really important, [c/n], so don't forget it and write it down right now."

What the hell is cytosine?

"Any questions?" She added briefly, looking up at me only for a moment before returning to flipping pages in her book. I swallowed nervously.

"Yes"

"Shoot" [y/n] said, eyes caressing over a page, snapshotting it into her memory. I'd noticed that every time she memorized something new, her beautiful [e/c] orbs would cloud ever so gently, and then clear just as quickly.

"Why does it have to be adenine and thymine? Why can't it be you and me?"

[y/n] froze visibly, but as I made no effort to contradict my words, she realized I was being serious, and let a loose sigh escape her lips. Her face assumed that grave, neutral expression that I'd noticed she'd put on every time she wanted to make an impression, and her deep [e/c] eyes bore into mine. And with a completely flat tone, she spoke.

"[c/n], are you drunk?"

I was taken aback by both the solemnity and sincerity in her voice. Blinking blearily, I shook my head furiously.

"No! I- ugh, fuck this. I love you, [y/n]! I always have, since I set my eyes on you! But I couldn't admit it; I couldn't find the courage to show everyone that I was in love with the pretty goody-two-shoes. And I tried to hate you, I really did, but god fucking damn it [y/n], I can't, I just can't-"

"But why?" I almost shrieked as she whispered huskily into my ear, not having noticed her move closer. "What's stopping you, [c/n]?"

I turned around and effectively caught [y/n] to stop her from moving around, which wasn't so difficult as she was as about as strong as an okra. Her hands slid around my neck and her forehead pressed against mine, our textbooks lying long forgotten upon the table.

"Everything" I admitted honestly, and she looked at me with lust in her eyes.

"Then let's put it away" [y/n] mouthed out, my face hot as her breath caressed my skin, the tip of her nose touching mine. "Because you are my everything, [c/n] [c/l/n]"

My heart stopped as her words registered in my head.

You are my everything.

"I'm going to kiss you now" I told her. [y/n] smiled an angelic smile, tilting her head.

"I think I'd like that"

When our lips met, I could only describe the feeling as utopia. It was an explosion of color, sparks, butterflies and sunshine, like a thousand flowers blooming at once. It was the first light of dawn and the gentle crackle of a bonfire shrouded in tundra. Our mouths molded together perfectly; like two puzzle pieces finally united.

We pulled away, out of breath, but even deeper in love than we'd been. And then we spoke, perfectly in sync.

"You have no idea how long I've been waiting to do that"
