➤ BLESSED❝ if i love myself,
then i love you.❞

The sunlight was fresh and clear that morning, streaming in through the windows like golden rain. Soft chatter milled around the library as the drafts of exam season hung in the air; people filtered in and out steadily looking deep in thought.
I had occupied a single table by the back of the library, several books spread out before me as I willed myself to concentrate. What I did not know was how I actually expected myself to study for my Economics test when [c/n] [c/l/n] had seated herself on the closest table diagonal to me, all her materials arranged neatly across the desk.
I raised my palm to my temple, watching [c/n] hungrily. I brazenly wondered how I appeared in that position, staring at my long-time crush with my mouth open, or even if I was drooling, but frankly, I didn't really care.
[c/n] had hastily pulled her hair into a quick ponytail, little [c/h/c] tendrils already falling out to frame her face. Glasses were shoved crookedly onto the bridge of her nose as she intently read what appeared to be Biology extra-credit, barely paying attention to the world around her. Not that I minded. She looked a hot mess and my mind had wandered far beyond where I could stop it.
I wonder if she'll go out with me, I mused silently as [c/n] turned a page slowly, reaching blindly for a pen while keeping her eyes on the words. Picking it up she used her teeth to pull it out of the cap, sending shudders down my spine when she squinted at the tip, then put it to paper and began to write.
"Go out with me? I wonder if she'll marry me!" I mused under my breath. Just as she began to recite a paragraph under her breath, my palm slipped from my head, sending me crashing onto the table and knocking all my books to the floor.
[c/n] jumped at the sudden noise, turning only to be greeted by the sight of me lying stupidly with my head on the table, still refusing to take my eyes off her. Only when she gave a small, gorgeous giggle, did I realize that I'd been caught.
Flushing, I shot up, instantly dropping to the floor and gathering my material. As a chair scraped against the tiles, and footsteps began to echo in the silent library I dropped my notebooks and pencils again, watching as a pair of sock-clad legs appeared in front of the table. "[y/n/n]?"
"Yes!" squeaked I, jerking forwards instantly and slamming my head against the underside of the table, causing me to recoil in pain. [c/n] had long since burst into laughter as I blushed an even darker shade of crimson.
"What are you doing?" [c/n] knelt down to my level as I unfurled myself from under the table, sitting up wonkily and massaging my head.
"Will you marry me?" I blurted out suddenly, startling her. A gasp followed as I comprehended what I'd said.
"Oh! Um, I mean, heh, I—" [c/n]'s eyes widened.
"Sorry!" I squeaked, and at this point I was sure I looked diseased. "I'm so sorry, that's not what I meant at all, it just came out wrong, and I—"
"It's alright," chuckled [c/n], composing herself. "Are you okay?"
"I—yeah, yeah, I'm perfect. Fine. Amazing. Immaculate!"
"Alright then, if you're sure," With a quick wink that almost sent my head reeling into the gutters, she rose and made away to her table. I clumsily got to my feet, clutching my papers against my stomach as I tried to calm my beating heart.
[c/n] stopped midway, glancing sultrily over her shoulder.
"Oh, and [y/n]? Ask me that question again in a few years, and maybe I'll say yes."
I was sure I looked like a human tomato. Clamming up, I tossed my papers onto the table, reaching to tug at my collar. When had it gotten so hot in here?
[c/n] retook her seat, smiling knowingly. Overwhelmed by the sheer atrocity of the situation, I let out a giant sneeze.
"Bless you!" called [c/n].
"Well, I'm sitting right next to you, aren't I? I'm already blessed."
[c/n] arched an eyebrow at me, "You really think so, angel?"
I hummed, gazing lovingly at her as we made eye contact, electricity crackling in the atmosphere.
"I do."
