Pete sat at his desk in his room. He was tapping his pencil on a piece of paper.
"Would writing about him make me seem desperate?"
He didn't have anything to write about. He usually writes about love. He loved him. He loved him so much.
He thought about calling him. As he thought that his phone rang. He wanted to cry when he saw who it was.
He let it ring. He left the room. He listen to the phone ring from the other room. About 5 minutes later he went back to his phone.
He saw that Patrick left him a message. He decided to listen to it.
'Hey Pete,'
He sounded broken. Like when you break a cd and you still try and listen to it. It's sounds sad. Patrick definitely sounded sad.
'I know this is weird. I haven't tried talking to you in 2 years. I kinda just up and left without word. I'm sorry. I can understand why you didn't answer. I know that your phone was near you. You always have your phone with you. I can imagine you watching your phone ring while you try to cry.'
He laughed but it sounded broken. He was broken and Pete had broken him.
'Look I love you and I know you don't. I ended up like him, I guess.'
Without a goodbye, he hung up. Pete was trying to think about the last part.

He was confused. He looked through his lyric book. He looked up at his picture wall. That's when he saw it. The boy who ruined his life. Dylan.
Pete cheated on Dylan with Patrick. That's where the line, I will never end up like him, came from. When Pete and Dylan officially broke up, Pete and Patrick stayed together. Patrick thought that Pete would never hurt him like he hurt Dylan. Boy was he wrong.
During the FAD tour, Pete and Patrick got into a huge fight. Pete made the stupid decision to go to Dylan and get drunk. They had sex. When the band started their hiatus. Pete and Patrick broke up. Andy knew about Dylan and Pete while they were dating. He probably told Patrick.
Patrick and Andy still talk. Pete and Andy still talk. When Pete and Dylan officially broke up, Andy told Patrick that Pete cheated on him with Dylan. Dylan broke up with Pete last week. He forgot to take down his picture.
Pete finally had some inspiration. He called a company to take over a stage for a night. It just happens to be the stage that Patrick will be performing at the day after. Pete writes his mind.
He calls Andy and tells him what he's doing. Andy tells Joe and Patrick. Pete calls Patrick and leaves him a message.
'Hey Patrick. If you heard what Andy told you, then cool. Sorry if that sounds mean. But I want you to go. I think you should go. Go with Andy and Joe. Anyway bye.'

The night of Pete's plan. Andy told Pete that he was dragging Patrick there. Joe was also going to be there. They get to stand right in front. Pete told his twitter followers what was happening. Almost 15,000 people were going to be there.
He gets up on stage. He sees Andy, Joe, and Patrick. He smiles and walks over to mic.
"This is probably weird because when I'm usually on stage I have a bass in hand and other people but now those other people are watching me." He gestured towards the 3 boys. "Anyway, this speech is dedicated to anyone who has ever gotten lost to find themselves. I'm an insomniac, my mind works the night shift. But I think everyone already knew that." He laughs. It's more of a nervous laugh. You know the one that you have when you are in an awkward situation.
