1. You're favorite characters in a show / drama / anime / etc go to an alternate dimension where you can finally write about your favourite ships that you know will never be canon.
2. The characters travel to the future to meet their older selves / or your character's older selves travel to the past and creates a whole butterfly effect (ex: Sasuke travels to the past to stop the Uchiha Massacre or Kakashi or even Obito himself travels back in time to make sure his younger self is truly dead)
3. I really like overlooked group / secret hero group kind of themes in book so maybe an au where your faves are in a gang or group that secretly acts as the justices of their dystopian world or something (ex: the railroad tigers).
4. You accidentally get pulled into the actual stories but you actually know your stuff and so you're kinda there with every single answer for the characters at the tip of your tongue.
