Being vegan does not change anything.
There is nothing wrong with not eating meat. There is also nothing wrong with supporting animal rights. But you did not save a cow by not choosing to eat a burger. Guess what, its already dead. There seems to be a bit of narcissism when it comes to this "I'm saving animals" "making a difference" There are ways to do that but not eating an animal did not save that or any other animals.
On but off topic I was scrolling through a sub reddit about vegans because i really enjoy other peoples opinions. They were asking what would you do if your child did not want to be vegan. A lot of these answers appalled me. Some along the lines of once the kid turned 18 if they wanted to eat meat that would be on them, they wouldn't feed them. They would do their best to change them but if they decide to do something so disgusting it would be on their dime and would not be supported by the parent. What the hell? That's your child! Just because they don't have the same beliefs does not mean they should be penalized and choosing to eat meat and other animal products is not a crime.
