Chapter Two

A year ago...
We enjoyed our lunch. You could tell we are all still young because Charlie was flirting with Anna who didn't want to know as she was trying to flirt with Jordan. Poor Emily was the outsider as she was sat there eating her lunch watching it unfold. Jordan couldn't care less about Anna. He was staring at me all day. I tried not to look or take notice, I carried on eating my lunch.

"Can I ask you out?".

" No thanks".

"Why not give me a chance?".

"Not interested".

" Boyfriend".

"No".

"Then why not?".

"Just not interested" I replied, "Ask Anna".

"Not interested".

"Well, we have something in common then".

"Just one date then".

"You're pushy".

"Like I said earlier my name is Jordan". He moved closer to me.

I groan and get up to sit somewhere else. Anna notices and sits next to Jordan. He looks at her funny and gets up to follow me in disgust. I try again to eat my lunch. I looked away from his stare but it was hard as his eyes were burrowing into me.

The door soon opened there was my dad ready and waiting to give everyone a quick tour. I get up and go up to my dad to walk with him hoping Jordan wouldn't follow. But he does like a lost puppy dog even though I am walking with my dad. He pretends to talk to my dad just so he can be with me. Don't let him get to you he's going away for a year. You may never see him again.

We were shown everywhere in the company and finished with his office. We went through the departments. Jordan saw his brother and sister in their departments who both showed him up in front of everyone. My dad walked us into the sales department on our tour.

" This is the sales department. This where the magic happens after the product is created and programmed. These guys sell it to the outside world. Under the guidance of manager Brian Cooper who has the best sellers in the company. One of which is Jonathan Knight. There was a squeak next to me from Jordan as gets a hard slap on the back.

"Hello, little brother. What brings you here".

" Working here".

"No, you're not. You taking one of those stupid I'm going to find myself gap years. You're too lazy to work. Always have been".

There was a snicker from surfer boy as Jordan said the same about him earlier in the day. He took no notice of surfer boy and carried on arguing with his brother. I look at both of them, they look alike except the eye color was different. Jon had hazel brown eyes while his brother had chocolate brown eyes.

" Hi I'm Jon," he said holding his hand out.

"Hi, I'm Beth".

" I know. I have seen you around here and at the functions". That's where I have seen Jordan then. I didn't realize Jon had a brother my age, I knew his sister.

We soon moved on to the departments of the company. I know the company like the back of my hand. I used to run away from my dad as a toddler around these rooms. I was two at the time. There were times I got lost and a boy a little older than me found me crying. He would try to help me find my dad. This was before he became CEO of the company. That little boy was Jon as his dad work in the same department as mine. He'd always looked out for me and also his little brother Jordan who was worse than me running off. I didn't remember Jordan then but I remember him from later on. Jon had one last swipe at his brother before we left the sales department.

"I see you are back to your old ways again. Chasing after girls. I should say the same one".

" What do you mean?".

"I have seen the look you give the girl. I remember a 9-year-old boy chasing a girl he liked who looked like that". He pointed to me and Jordan went all bashful and with bright red cheeks.

" Shut up. No, I never". Jordan tried to leave.

"You were so smitten of the girl called Bethan". He chuckled as Jordan glared at him. I tried not to listen and followed my dad. We went through the programming department. We went onto HR which the other two girls want to do. This is where we met his sister. She had the same color hair but her eyes were the same as Jon's. She noticed Jordan when she put her phone down after receiving a text I guess from Jon. As the teasing carried. Jordan was now getting annoyed from the constant teasing he is getting from both his brother and sister.

"That concludes our tour for today. The ones who start as interns I will see you in July. But I bet I will see you all for the annual summer BBQ end of May. Hope to see you all soon". My dad starts to walk off leaving us.

" So what about our date then?" replied Jordan.

"Oh... Dad, wait up. I need to talk to you". I ran off to catch my dad leaving Jordan in the middle of the room confused and looking like a wounded puppy all in one.
