Chapter 6: As The Clock Chimes: part 1
---------------
Twelve chimes indicated the children that it was midnight. Surprisingly, none of them had fallen asleep.
Six—Klaus and Ben shared a room—doors simultaneously opened and seven heads peered around to see if the others were there. Nodding, they came out of their chambers and tip-toed out of the bedroom hall. They didn't have to worry about their father as he's always up in his office which is next to his bedroom. They did however have to worry about Pogo, whose room was in the same hallway as the children's rooms for obvious reasons.
The monkey tended to sleep very lightly so if they made even the slightest of sounds, they would probably get caught. If they did, they would have a hard time explaining themselves, so getting caught was out of the question.
Vanya was the one who led the rest of them to the music room. She was one of the few members of their family who knew where its location was.
After filing into the room, she closed the door and switched on the lights. There were two couches and a comfortable armchair. Diego, Klaus and Ben sat on one couch, Allison and Luther on the other while Vanya sat in the armchair with Five next to her on the armchair's arm.
"Okay. We're all here. We need t—" Luther began in a low voice.
"You don't have to whisper Luther," Vanya said in a normal volume, startling her siblings. "This is the music room. It's soundproof. Nobody will hear us in here."
"Oh..." The blond looked a little embarrassed but quickly covered it up by clearing his throat. "We've actually got a lot to talk about, where do we start?"
"The beginning, I guess," Allison jumped in, "We need to hear what you've been getting up to, Five."
Said boy nodded and sighed as he recalled everythingthat'd happened over the years.
"Okay, so I think I've told you what happened after I left when we were kids, right?" They all nodded. "When I came back, I didn't expect to be back in my teenage body. I was, however, surprised to see you all here, in the Academy. I read Vanya's book and from what I could tell, you guys weren't exactly in the nicest place with each other. I needed to find out who owned the eye I brought with me from the future—which later turned out to be Harrold Jenkins'."
Vanya tensed at the mention of that man's name. Five noticed and moved his arm to rest around her shoulder, giving her a feeling of safety.
"I worked for this organisation, the Temps Commission. A lady, named the Handler, was my boss and before I came back here, I tricked her. She found me and when it became clear to me that the apocalypse was still on track, I made a deal with her: save our family from the apocalypse in exchange of working for her.
"At the time, I didn't know that Vanya would cause it. I broke the deal when they decided to target her. There were two people, Cha-cha and Hazel, who were assigned to kill me. I don't know what happened to those two though..."
"Will they come back for us?" Diego asked tensely.
"It's hard to tell if the Commission already knows where we went. They will, however, catch up to us eventually, so we can't relax just yet. We need to be prepared for whenthey do come back. Most likely, they'll send new people to come after us. Hazel and Cha-cha failed, and if they survived, they will probably have been fired."
"Oh thank the Lord..." Klaus muttered from his spot in the middle of the couch.
"Klaus... I think it's your turn to tell us what happened to you," Ben whispered to his closest brother, though the others could clearly hear him.
