Klaus scowls, his grip on the shot glass so tight that his knuckles begin to turn white. What does she thinks she's doing over there? Flirting, obviously trying to make him jealous. Whatever, it's not going to work. He won't let her have this control over him.

He's Klaus Mikaelson, damnit. He doesn't have a weakness. At least it's what he tries to convince himself of. But he does. He knows it, deep down, even if he won't admit it to himself.

Her.

Caroline Forbes is his one weakness.

"You good there, mate?" Marcel's voice lingers in Klaus's ears, bringing him back to reality.

Klaus turns to his friend, teeth gritting together.

"I'm tempted to go over there and kill him— I mean, he's a bloody human, nothing special and I need you to give me a reason not to. Make it good, because right now, I can't consider any reason why I shouldn't," Klaus growls.

Marcel only smiles, his teeth inhumanly white and perfect, making Klaus want to punch him.

"You two broke up, remember? She technically is doing nothing wrong right now," he states, taking the shot out of Klaus's hand and chugging it, his face scrunching slightly.

Klaus glares at him, "we're on a break."

"Does it matter?"

"Yes, it matters. It's different. I haven't hooked up with anyone in the past week so she shouldn't either."

Marcel laughs at Klaus, shaking his head. "Man, she has you wrapped around her little finger."

Klaus growls at him. "What?"

"Klaus, if you don't like her talking to him, why don't you tell her? Tell her how you feel for once instead of being passive aggressive," he tells him honestly.

Klaus eyes Marcel, wanting to be mad at him, but ultimately knows he's right.

"Maybe I'll kill the guy who's daring to flirt with my girlfriend while I'm at it too. I am quite hungry, and an annoying prick's blood sure sounds like a snack right now," Klaus licks his lips with a sadistic smirk.

Marcel rolls his eyes, "don't kill the dude."

Klaus arches an eyebrow.

Marcel sighs, further explaining, "he comes in every week. He's really nice, okay?"

Klaus rolls his eyes with a small mumble of "fine," before heading off towards the all-too-beautiful blonde who instantly catches his eye.

"Klaus, what are you doing?" She whispers, her tone annoyed as he smiles at the man before her.

"You're trying to make me jealous."

Caroline sneers, "grow up. I am not."

"Really? And that's why you're here with this... this human?" Klaus growls, his eyes dark as he looks at the now confused man before her.

"Klaus this is Gabriel, my friend from elementary school who just got back in town and wanted to know if I'd like to have a drink with him," Caroline glares at Klaus, and he swears, if looks could kill, Klaus would be dead on the floor by now.

"So what? You're on a date, or something?" Klaus asks.

Her face goes red with anger, Gabriel's face red from embarrassment.

"Klaus, we're not on a date for the last time!" Caroline rolls her eyes, crossing her arms.

"Oh really? How am I supposed to believe that when you two were clearly flirting over here trying to make me jealous?!" Klaus's tone goes angrier as he raises his voice, attempting to scare Gabriel even more who still hasn't said a word.

"Hey babe, who's this?" A young man approaches the three, his arm sliding around Gabriel protectively.

"Who are you?" Klaus sneers, his mind going in all the wrong places.

Is she trying to have a threesome?! What the bloody hell?

Caroline runs a hand through her hair, sighing. "Klaus, this is Adam, Gabriel's boyfriend."

Klaus eyes Adam and Gabriel, then eyes Caroline, then looks back at the couple.

"So you're not—"

"Trying to make you jealous? No. I'm not. I was trying to have a fun night out with my friends," Caroline seethes anger, and it's now that Klaus realizes he's made a huge mistake.

"We'll give you two some space. It's getting late anyways. It was nice to meet you, Klaus. I'll see you soon, Caroline. I had a lot of fun," Gabriel cuts in between the two, both of them giving Caroline a hug before scurrying off.

Caroline's smile fades once she faces Klaus again.

"I know what you're going to say, and just let me explain--"

"Klaus, this is the reason we went on a break. You get so jealous and afraid that I'm out doing something to provoke you or make you mad. You don't trust me. I just don't understand. I trust you! I trust you when you're out with other women that you won't hook up with them. I trust that you won't make dumb decisions when you've had a lot to drink. I trust that you love me, and wouldn't try to ever hurt me. I try so hard, Klaus. Why can't you return that?" Caroline asks, her tone now sad instead of angry.

"I'll try harder, love. I know it may seem like I don't at all-- trust me, I do-- but I try. I love you so much, Caroline, it hurts. I just can't stand the thought of you being taken away from me. I can't stand the thought of someone else touching you or kissing you the way I do," Klaus pauses, leaning in, studying her reaction, before continuing and placing a small kiss on her lips.

"I love you too, Klaus. It's just... maybe a break is still needed. I can't forgive you just yet. I mean, you freaking thought my gay friend was hitting on me," she giggles, her face red slightly from the alcohol.

She looks beautiful, Klaus thinks.

Klaus can't help but to chuckle, "can you blame me? You're a beautiful girl at a bar. Who am I to know who's trying to flirt and who's not?"

Caroline smiles back, her eyes meeting his. Klaus's smile fades shortly.

"I am sorry, Caroline. I don't ask you to forgive me. I just ask that you give me a second chance. Let me show you that I trust you, and that I love you," his tone goes low, his voice quieter than before, calmer.

She smiles slightly. She can't help herself. She's so in love with him it scares her sometimes.

"Last chance, Mikaelson. You better not let me down," she says playfully.

Klaus grins in relief. "I won't, love. I promise."
