CHAPTER 11

Bottle of water

"Okay. Let's start our group evaluation, with group A." Our mentor said announced.

The groups A walked to the center and prepare their performance. This group evaluation happens every once in a month and our group depends on our mentor who she/he picks randomly and we'll plan and prepare for 5 days and will perform afterwards.

The group A is consists of 6 members and they cover the LUV of Apink. Yeoreum and Stacey are there, Jin Hee as Bomi and Yeoreum as Namjoo.

After their performance we all clap our hands. They did very well however their main vocalist was unstable and suddenly make me nervous what if my vocals will be not stabled shortly? Although I'm not the main vocalist.

"Noticeably, your vocals sound really bad. It's very unstable. During our vocal lessons you were fine, but now? What happened?" The vocal mentor spoke to their main vocal.

"S-sorry. I'm not feeling well today. I have cough." She bowed and look down cause of shame.

"Not just you... All of you. You can't debut when your voice aren't stable. Understand?"

"Yes, Ms." They said.

"But then I have seen a good side. The rapper was good tho and you were all good in dancing. Especially Yeoreum." The dance mentor said that made us clap. That's my friend! I'm proud!

"She fits this kind of genre the most. But don't let your capabilities just settle for less, try to explore more. Thank you and you make take seats." They all bowed their heads and go back to their area.

"Okay, Group B. Let me see what you've prepared."

I and my groupmates stand up and go the center and pose our first position. Our group assigned to be Red Velvet and I am with Hana and Stacey. In our group I was assigned to be Seulgi, Stacey is Wendy and Hana is Joy.

The Red Flavor starts to play and my mind is telling me to relax.

Yeah relax, (Y/n) It's just a monthly evaluation.

But then, after our performance I feel very glad because I am confident of our performance and laso what I've did. And now we're here standing still to here the mentors' judgement.

"The vocals were fine and Stacey, you can reach the high notes though but still must to secure when performing so you gotta develop more." We nod and smile.

"Then, the rap...I am not contented because your diction is not clear. So you better practice the words very well and it'll be heard by audience clearly." One of the mentor said.

"Lastly,the dance is very good. It was all sync. And (Y/n) Your dancing skill is Seulgi-level. So just the rap that needs to improve. All in all it was great." We bowed our head s and go back to our seats with full of determining and encouraging comments from the mentors.

Practice makes perfect so each of us needs to practice more and more.

"Lastly Group C. Let's see if CLC exist in your group."

The group C walks to the center and they'll perform CLC's Pepe. Cai Jing is there and she's Elkie.

After performance the group did well and just like what did the two groups did, they stand still to wait for mentors' judgement.

"These group is very neat. The dance and rap are very good and again vocals aren't really stable. I can hear it. Who's the rapper?" The group points at their main rapper and the mentor praised her.

"So the monthly evaluation is done. I hope next time you'll sing better and stabilize more your vocals. Alright? You may take a rest and attend on your next agenda afterwards. Thank you." JYP said and we bowed our heads to him as we exit the room.

We were walking on our way to our room when I decided to stop by at the cafeteria to get water because I'm out of water already. I asked them if they want me to bring them water but they decline and told me they already have an extra.

I went to comfort room to rinse my face cold water when I met Mogi as I went out of the rest room. He stop in front of me and I suddenly can't breathe properly. What is he doing?

He's staring at me blankly and I was about to take a step when he handed me a bottle of water.

"There's no water in cafeteria. So I reserved one for you." I smile awkwardly and bowed my head to him.

"Thank you, Mogi. I'll drink well." He just nod and walks away from me.

Without expecting he stopped from walking and tilt his head on my direction. "And one more thing, I hate it when people call me 'Mogi'. But you're exception..." He smiled and walks away completely.

He smiled. He smiled! HE SMILED!!!!!

I can feel my cheeks are somewhat...burning...WHAT WAS THAT?!

It's Monday today and I am celebrating my 1st monthsarry here in JYP entertainment as an official trainee! Wow! I can't believe I'm already 1 month old here! And right now I need to go to school to report.

"You ready?" Hana asked me and I nod as I stood up and walk with her to the van.

"Many things happened inside a month right?"

"yes. I can't believe that we're one month here already." I said and smiled very wide.

"And the things will become tougher and tougher."

"And we gotta remain stronger."

Until now, Hana talked in english but sometimes she's trying to talk with us in Korean. She is Chinese nationality and lived in America for how many years and she just came here in Korea, I understand her situation because I've experienced it.

Language barrier is not a hindrance to reach your dreams...

"So how's Korean lesson?"

"It's hard, honestly but I'm trying my best sooo... I'll understand it soon."

"I can teach you if you want." I offered.

"Really? Cai jing taught me before only once because of her schedule is complicated to mine. So I told her not to bother me anymore."

"We're kind of having the same schedule so let's do that during our free time." I smiled.

"really? Thank you. Thank you. You're so kind, (y/n)." She hugged me and smiled.

"It's fine. " I giggled and tap her shoulders. "You can do it! Fighting!"

Weeks had passed and our life as a trainee because tougher and tougher. Dance, Sing, rap and identify which area we really belong. AND I found out that I belong in dancing. Now we're having a dance evaluation and I was asked to have a freestyle showdown with other dancers. The other trainees that are competent in vocal and rap have their own activities in other rooms.

And I am here with Yeoreum and Hana. As always.

The mechanics of the activity is when our mentor points us, we'll go in the center and will freestyle dancing accompanied by random music that will be picked by our mentor. And this kind of activities helps us to expand and discover our dancing capabilities.

Now I'm nervous.

Breathe in! Breathe out!

You can't let your nervous destroy what you want to aim!

That's right! 

Do it for your family. Make them proud!

Okay. Let's do this....
