Despite how much we hurt each other. Despite the bond between us was now like a crackle of fire in the winter night. I still couldn't bring myself to leave him. I still held on to that waning hope that everything would eventually turned itself around.

So, I decided to stay in Perseus Clan. However, Perseus and I now lived in separate rooms. He still stayed in our bedroom, where we built everything from scratch. He must have been very frustrated to hear me staying here despite everything he said. However, being Perseus, he brought himself to satisfy all my need. He had arranged a room for me, but on the other side of the cage so we would have little chance to see each other. It pained me a lot to hear about it, but after all, he was enduring it too. Perseus also arranged Feyre to be at my side and helps me with everything.

My eyes glanced at the windows, hearing the footsteps, I knew the it was about time to change shift. That's right, there must be hundred of sentries staying guard outside my room. Not to mention a dozen of assassins staying hidden in the bushes. Perseus was terrified of what his brothers could do to me. So he had arranged all kind of possible defences around me. Not even a fly could touch me in this place. Though it felt like a prison, I didn't mind it for as long as it could put Perseus at ease.

The room I stayed in looked no different than our bedroom. Except for the windows that peered out into the Eastern gardens. As I watched the nightingales sang in the night, I decided to pour myself a cup of tea. But when my hand went to reach for the cup, it went past through it. No, it wasn't that cup that turned invisible. It was me. My hand somehow lost its appearance, as if I had turned into a spirit for a moment and could no longer have any physical interaction with the world. I held up my hand, staring at that faint glow, half appeared and half disappeared. After a few blinks of the eyes, everything turned normal again. I could see my hand again, flesh and skin. Shakily, I slowly reached for the cup, and the coldness of it embraced the nerves on my palm. I sighed in relief for it had turned to normal again.

This has gotten worse over the week since I started staying in this room. I remembered the first time that happened was when I tried to free Paecus and my hunters. I thought I was tired, was hallucinating it. But now it has become more frequent and each time it happened, I stayed invisible for a little longer than the last. It couldn't be just a coincidence. Something must be happening to me. Yet, everything in me felt fine. I couldn't diagnose it. Yet, the fact that I occasionally became like a spirit concerned me greatly.

Decided not to dwell in that any longer, I decided to go outside. It must have been the results from the old wounds from the previous battle. After all, I have exhausted my essence to save Perseus so now my body is trying to recover.

The moment I opened that doors, two guards came to my presence.

I stared at them and they kept their icy looks.

"What?" I rolled my eyes. "I'm not even allowed to leave the room too?"

"The Prince gave orders" one of them said. "You can roam the Clan but cannot step beyond it no matter what. We will have sentries escorting you"

I sighed. There's no escape from him is there? I just nodded to them and continued on my way. Behind me, four sentries followed in line.

They followed me wherever I went, every twist and turn. When I stayed to play with the flowers, they stood around me. Not close enough to make me uncomfortable, but definitely within my peripheral vision. Every where I went, sentries matched back and forth as if there was a war going on. No, Perseus must have strengthened the defences of his clan, so that even if the other Princes decided to come here and take me away. Perseus wouldn't be left unprepared. He was not going down without a fight. My presence here would one day cause a civil war in the Territory. Brothers would kill each other, families are shredded apart. At that moment, I realised it wasn't just my desire and my own death anymore. It involved a lot of people. With my death, Perseus would certainly go to war against the person that killed me. That would bring other Princes into the fight. I now realise my selfish desire would be the doom for Perseus people. And I made up my mind then to leave him for good.
