Part 26

"Laura, step on it Woman!!"

Laura looked at him through the rear view mirror and glared at him.

"Zach if you don't shut it right now i will stop right here and you can use a bush!"

Laura growled.

she wasn't in the mood its been like 30 minuets and he's been yapping about how he has to use the bathroom and blahh blahh blahhh.

"I wouldn't mind that actually." everyone stared at him, "what??? I really wouldn't mind."

Laura scrunched up her nose, "We don't want to see that Zach." 

"look, there's a gas station." Ruby pointed out.

How convenient she thought.

She parked right in front of the store.

The car wasn't even off and Zach was already sprinting to the to the bathroom.

"Welp, I'm going to get some snacks, see ya!" Laura went into the store, and she didn't notice corbyn following in after.

"Laura?" 

she turned around whipping him with her longish hair.

"oh, sorry." 

"He smiled it's okay."

"So what's going to happen once we get to torres?"

Laura felt her heart begin to palpitate harder and faster.

"uh, you guys will go back home." she got a little nervous knowing that wasn't it.

"What about you guys?"

"We have other people to save, you guys aren't the only ones who need saving."

she turned around and walked over to the freezers.

"I know, it's just we haven't really bonded, ever since you guys told us your secret you've been distant."

"I prefer it to be that way."

"What if I don't want it to be that way."

Laura felt him get closer to her.

she turned around immediately.

"Corbyn I-I..."

she was now against the freezer, "You what?"

He placed a hand on the glass right next to her head.

"I-I don't t-think you ..." her breath hitched as he got centimeters from her face.

His lips hovered over hers.

With his free hand he lifted her chin.

He drifted his mouth over to her ear.

"You don't think we should be this close?" he whispers.

He loved the effect he had on her, she seemed almost vulnerable, who knew that he could do that to her just by being so close.

"I personally prefer you this close." he teased and looked down at her brown orbs.

She looked at his lips and back up to his glistening eyes.

she couldn't take it any more.

Screw the agency, "kiss me."

His eyes examined hers before he leaned in.

"Oh, sor-" he looked down, "Ruby?"

she looked up at Zach, "Oh, sorry."

"It's alright, did you use the bathroom already?"

"yeah, why?"

"I didn't get to thank you earlier for chubs, so I want to treat you to ice cream, c'mon let's go get some."

He held her tiny hand in his and the walked into the store.

They made their way to the freezers and then they saw Corbyn and Laura.

They both looked at each other with surprised expressions, "Hey guys!!" 

Before they could connect their lips Zach chimed in.

Laura pushed Corbyn away, "hey guys, we weren't doing anything."

"clearly." Zach says sarcastically.

"C'mon Corbyn you shouldn't let me stop you from kissing the girl, you should've grabbed her and kissed her, like this."

He pulled ruby by the waist and leaned down to kiss her.

the difference was that he actually did connect his lips.

"ruby was hesitant at first but slowly she fell into his daze."

"you want to go?"

Laura nodded and they grabbed some ice cream before heading out.

sorry about yesterday, I was really tired and didn't feel like updating, I knew that if i forced myself to update it would've been a crappy chapter, so I just waited till today, but this chapter is pretty short its five hundred something words. while others are 900-1000 words long.
