Okay, it's been a month and school starts tomorrow. I still haven't figured out what was going on with the Lynchs. Ross and Elisa were never there so I never got to talk to them, but I became really close friends with Riker and Rydel.

I was lying on my bed when my phone rang. I walked over and answered it,

"Hello."

"Kristen, are you just as excited as I am for school to start?" Rydel said on the other line.

"Is that a rhetorical question? I mean seriously it's just school, but yeah I'm excited to see how this school is."

"Hey, are you getting on the bus or do you want to ride with me and Riker?"

"Um, I could ride with you guys. Wait, did you figure out everyone else's schedule?"

"Yea, it's real easy to remember considering Ross and Elisa have the same schedule as you except for Ross doesn't have Home Ed with you guys. I think this is the first year Ross and Elisa weren't in ALL the same classes." Rydel said.

"Wait, they were always in the same class?" I asked kind of curious.

"Yeah, ever since Elisa moved here that is. Her and Ross met in class. She always got bullied because she was different and Ross stood up for her and they became really close friends. Now, they're dating and you can't separate them."

Elisa seemed pretty normal to me, well besides the fact she wasn't her anymore, but in the pictures she was like any normal teenage girl. Maybe she was always shy and quiet because of the trust issues she has. I'll just ask.

"Rydel, how different was she."

"Well, I don't really know, but people called her stuff like loner and wallflower. She really didn't talk to much people until Ross. I guess you could say she had no one to trust. Well I got to go to bed, see you tomorrow."

"See ya." I hung up the phone.

I looked at the time before setting my alarm and going to bed.

-----------------

I woke up at 6:30, so I could start getting ready. I hopped in the shower, got out and scrunched up my hair, put on a pair of ripped jeans, a holister shirt, and converse, I walked back to the bathroom to brush my teeth and fixed up my make up. By the time I was done, it was 7:15 so I walked downstairs and got a bowl of cereal. Not too long after I was done, there was a knock at my door. I walked over and opened it, but I saw no one there. I looked next to the door to see something sticking out of the mailbox. I pulled it out to see it was addressed to me.

Kristen,

I am very sorry for never being around as you grew up, but I was very busy with my job. Believe this when I say it, but my job actually protects you and the people you love. I have never gotten the time to write you, but I had to now because.....you and your mother are in great danger where you are. Please warn her, especially since she is close to having a baby. I am only trying to protect you.

                                                                        Love, your father

I stood there frozen, in great danger? How and from what? Wait, what makes me want to believe the man that abandoned me when I was little? There was no time to answer those questions because Riker and Rydel came out of their house and gestured me to come over there since they were leaving. I shoved the note in my bag and ran over to them before we headed to school. I honestly think that the most awkward class will be Home Ed, I mean Rydel is in there too, but Elisa might not talk to anyone since Ross isn't there and I'm wanting to find something to talk about with her.

Rydel and I walked into the room and it was set up where three or four people were to a table. I leaned close to Rydel so I could whisper in her ear.

"Hey, why don't we pair up with Elisa, so she is actually with people she knows and I'm pretty sure that out of everyone in the class, she only talks to you."

Rydel nodded her head as we walked over to Elisa. She had black ripped jeans on with a leather jacket. She had her hair perfectly straight and she wore red lipstick. When we got to the table she was at, no one spoke.

"Hey." I said trying to break the silence.

"Hi." She said showing a small smile.

"Umm, you look pretty today." I said not really knowing what to say.

Her smile grew a little bit, "Thanks. You too."

Before I could say anything else, the teacher came in the classroom.

"Okay class, please take your seats. I am Mrs.Rayburn and I will be your Home Ed teacher."

Throughout the class, Mrs.Rayburn discussed the class rules and what we do in here while Rydel, Elisa, and I had small conversations. She started to get more comfortable with me and we talked more. She still seemed nervous though, even though we could talk, she still felt as if she couldn't trust me enough. I could tell by the way she acted. After class, I started walking to my next class. I was alone since Rydel had a different class to go to, I didn't see Riker leave his class, and I'm guessing Elisa decided to wait for Ross.

I continued walking until I accidentally bumped into someone. I stumbled onto the floor and looked up to see a blonde girl that I knew was probably the snobby 'most popular' girl of the school.

"Geez, why won't you watch where you are going next time." The snobby blonde said.

"Yea, don't you know? Once you get in Sophie's way, your life will get ruined." One of the snobby blonde's minions said.

Almost immediately, I saw Elisa at my side as she helped me up.

"Well maybe if Sophie didn't have her fake nose in her phone so much, she could've seen her coming. Maybe, YOU should watch where you're going." Elisa said directly to Sophie's face.

"Oh look, little loner over here is trying to make friends. You know what, the only reason Ross is with you is because he felt bad for you. I mean, clearly he is waiting for the right time to dump you and go to the girl he truly wants, me." Sophie said like she knew it all.

"That's impossible because last time I checked, Ross doesn't have a price tag so your daddy can't buy him for you."

"God, what does he see in you anyway? You are just an orphaned misfit who no one will ever love."

A flash of anger went through Elisa's eyes and in one quick motion that was almost inhuman, Elisa had Sophie pinned up against the lockers. Ross immediately jumped up to pull Elisa off. He pulled her away from the crowd of girls.

"Elisa, you can't let them get to you. If you lose it, everyone might just find out." Ross soothed. I guess he didn't know I could hear.

"But, Ross did you hear her?! How could I not flip out?" Elisa argued.

"Listen, none of the things she says are true. You don't have to worry about anything. I love you and nothing will change that."

"I love you too baby."

I looked around the corner to see the two of them kissing. Gosh, Rydel was right about Ross being the only person to calm Elisa. Even though they seemed like an adorable couple, they still left me more curious about them.

Again, sorry for a terrible chapter. But, I always tend to work on my chapters at night and I end up rushing. 5 votes for my chapter 5:)
