Love Bites Back

Chapter 6

The kiss went on for a while and I didn't know what to do. I have never kissed anyone before. Should I continue? Should I pull back? Heck, I don't want to pull back. The kiss Riker and I shared felt as if it were magic. Our lips moved perfectly in sync as if we knew what each other was thinking. I felt like we were the only people in the world and electric bolts went through my body. I hope that Riker felt this as well. He eventually pulled back and looked into my eyes. It was as if he was trying to read my mind. He had a shocked expression like he wasn't expecting himself to do that.

"Wow, I'm sure no one saw that coming."

We both jerked our heads to the window to see Elisa standing on the roof where Riker was earlier.

She looked at Riker, "I'm guessing you explained everything and worked it out." Riker nodded his head. "Well, come on. We got to get home, dinner is almost done."

He got up and climbed out the window before jumping off the roof without saying a word. Elisa turned back to face me.

"I don't know how you found out, but if anyone else knew then it would go public. If we went public, we would be in danger and it could end with possible death."

"I won't tell anyone." I said above a whisper. She went to leave before I stopped her. "Wait, Elisa." She faced me again. "Thanks for sticking up to me at school earlier."

She kind of smiled, "Don't mention it. Like I said, she has her fake nose in everyone else's business, she doesn't even know much about herself. Except for the fact she thinks she's better than everyone else, but hey, a school wouldn't be normal if there wasn't at least one girl like that." She laughed a little.

"Yea, you're right. I guess I'll see you later."

"See ya." She turned and jumped off the roof just like Riker did earlier.

I sighed before flopping onto my bed and staring at the ceiling. It's so dull, I should do something with it. Maybe paint it, put those glow in the dark stars, or just have a huge poster on it. As I thought of all the possible things to do, I slowly fell asleep.

I stood there in a dark alley for no apparent reason, but I was terrified. Just then, I heard a booming voice. I looked behind me and saw a huge mob.

"THERE SHE IS! SHE'S WITH THE MONSTER!" One of them shouted.

"MAYBE SHE'S ONE OF THEM TOO!" Another one shouted.

"LETS GET HER!" They all started chasing me and I ran as fast as I could the other way.

It felt as if I wasn't even moving, I ran even faster. So fast that my legs started hurting. Eventually I reached the end, but I felt someone grab ahold of me. I screamed as the person jerked me to a door way in the alley. I watched as the mob ran pass us thinking I was still running that way. I looked to see who pulled me and saw Riker.

"Thanks Riker. You saved me." I looked at Riker and his eyes were dark. Those weren't his normal eyes I looked into the night we kissed.

He finally spoke, "Not exactly." Before I could even question him, he showed his fangs and shoved them into my neck.

I shot up out of my bed, breathing heavily. I looked around to see I was still in my room. I felt a pain in my neck, I snapped my hand up to feel where it was hurting. I felt nothing, but I wanted to make sure. I got up and turned on the light before looking in the mirror. I pulled back my hair to reveal why I felt the pain. There were two faint parallel dots. They looked like light bruises, but where did they come from?

They looked as if they were scars from getting bit. But, I didn't have them before so it couldn't be scars, they aren't fresh either so I couldn't have been bitten. I covered it back up with my hair and turned to go back to bed since it was three in the morning. I stopped when I realized my window was open, I slowly crawled onto my bed and forced the window down and locking it. Let's just say, I don't think I got much sleep that night.

At school the next day, Riker never spoke to me. It was as if he was ignoring me. The only person that really talked to me was Rydel. She sat beside me in Drama, our last hour.

"How come you're being so quiet today?" She asked.

"I don't know, aren't I usually quiet?"

"Well yeah, but this time you're the awkward kind of quiet, not the normal shy girl quiet. What's going on?" She asked kind of worried.

I sighed, "It's Riker, he hasn't talked to me at all last night. I mean, I know I went off on him about the whole situation, but we talked it out and things plus we......" I stopped.

"You what?" She asked smiling a little.

"We kissed." I said blushing.

"And you liked it, didn't you?" She asked, smiling still.

"Rydel it was my first kiss and it was the best kiss anyone could ask for. I thought he felt the same way, but I guess he doesn't considering he hasn't spoken a word to me." I said looking down.

"Wow, that was your first kiss? Talk about extra virgin you freak. Of course he didn't feel the same way, who would like being forced into a kiss?"

Rydel and I both shot our heads behind us to see Sophie. Oh, did I mention that Sophie had the Drama with me?

Her and her minions just started snickering. Not too long after that I finally spoke up.

"You know what? You keep calling everyone freaks over one flaw they have and yes I might be an 'extra virgin' but that's because I prefer to open up books and study rather than open my legs to any guy like you do."

Next thing I know, everyone in the classroom was laughing at what I said to Sophie. She looked around and just sat back in her seat without saying anything. I looked around and noticed everyone heard, but the teacher. Thank God!

After class, I walked to my locker to get my bag.

"There she is." I froze when I heard those words, they were the same words from the dream. I turned to see a tall muscular guy with messy black hair smiling as he approached me. I started to relax knowing it wasn't the same thing. "The girl who stood her ground to Sophie. You really have the guts to say something like that about her. I'm Rick by the way." He held out his hand.

I shook it and replied, "I'm Kristen, so what are you? Sophie's boyfriend or something?"

"Um, I'm actually her ex."

"Oh."

"But like I said, that takes a lot of guts to do what you did. Usually if someone messes with her, she will stop at nothing to take them down. Just look at Elisa." He said.

"Wait, what did she do to Elisa?"

"Like I said, look at her. She used to be the nice friendly person who saw happy in everything. But, once Sophie got ahold of her, she's now the cold hearted badass you see now."

I remembered the pictures of her I saw in the scrapbook and knew whag he meant, but I can't help but want to know everything that happened. "What exactly did she do to her that made her the way she is?"

"You ask a lot of questions." Rick smirked.

"I'm a curious person." I smirked back.

"All I can say is she took the one thing Elisa loved most and basically crushed it, in her face."

Before I could ask anything else, Elisa came up from behind me and started pulling me with her in the direction away from Rick. "You really are a curious person aren't you? If you want to know more about me you're heading in the wrong path."
