Chapter 15

I started to stir awake as I heard voices around me. My throat felt dry and my head felt like they were rocks pressing against each side.

"Guys, she's waking up." I heard someone yell and I felt their presence as they ran towards me. I slowly opened my eyes, getting blinded by the amount of light in the room. As my vision cleared, I saw Elisa next to me.

"Elisa...." I started. "What happened?"

"After Riker said what he said and seeing Sophie, you collapsed on the ground with pain. Ross heard you scream, well everyone did, but he came to you and carried you to the car and we took you to Stormie's, where we found out that you are now half vampire."

"Half vampire?" I asked trying to sit up but instantly regretting it.

"Yea, you are only one single pain away from being a vampire. Your heart is still beating, but very faintly. You already have the characteristics of a vampire except for being dead. That's why you're thirsty, but you're not killing someone to get a drink."

"How did Riker react?" I couldn't help but ask.

"He kind of freaked out, but not enough to come back to normal. Sophie left with him before he could completely change back. I could of sworn once he saw you....he would be back."

I thought for a while. "If I can't I know what could."

Elisa gave me the 'you're crazy' look. She knew what I was thinking. "Kristen, we can't risk that. Its too dangerous."

"Yea, but you have to risk things to do what you know is right. Plus, you and Ross are here in case anything happens. Whether its Riker trying to hurt us or me turning into a full vampire, but I know that it will work."

"Well, you shouldn't have to worry about attacking anyone when you fully change since there are plenty of blood bags in the fridge, so there is going to be no killing." Elisa explained.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that." Ross said coming out the kitchen and holding a bag of blood up. I felt the urge to run over and drink it, but I held myself back. There was a faint pain in my mouth that I ignored so I could hear what Ross was saying. "This is the last bag and I'm pretty sure Kristen is going to need warm blood since she also has the blood of a vampire hunter."

"Yea, I guess. Let's just hope it doesn't get to that point. Okay, you go get him while I get more blood bags since Riker thinks he can drink it all. Kristen, me and Ross should be back no later than an hour. Try to rest up a bit."

They both left and I was there alone and felt awkward. So, I did what Elisa said and decided to rest. I laid on the couch for a while before I heard someone giggling outside. I ran to the window and opened up the curtain a little bit to see Riker and Sophie coming to the front door. Not wanting to confront them, I hid in the coat closet. I listened to them come in and there was silence.

"Riker baby, what's wrong?" Sophie said, making my skin crawl.

"K-Kristen's jacket is on the couch."

"So?"

"That means she was here. Ross and Elisa must have brought her here after what happened at the Casablanca."

"Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. What happened there anyway? She had some time of spasm attack." Sophie said in an obnoxious tone.

"It doesn't matter." Riker said, his voice dimming down.

"It sure seemed like it mattered. Listen, you are with me now. That means you should never think about her or have any feelings for her. Unless you want what happened to your brother to happen to you."

"What do you mean happened to my brother?!" Riker yelled, clearly not knowing that what happened to Ross was due to Sophie.

"Elisa got in my way before so I hurt her to where it could never be healed. Now, I plan on doing the same thing to Kristen."

I felt pain, not because of what she said. Physical pain. My throat became even more dry and my thirst grew. The pain in my mouth grew as I felt fangs grow. Suddenly, the pain disappeared. Everything but the thirst. And I knew exactly what I wanted. Who I wanted.

I kicked down the closet door and Riker and Sophie snapped their heads in my direction. Their eyes full of fear. I probably would have been scared too if I saw someone kick down a door with fangs showing. Riker was more shocked then scared, while Sophie was trembling with fear. I approached her slowly and the closer I got, the more she got scared. I finally got right in front of her.

I was sure to show my fangs, "Why don't you tell us your plan again." I said smirking.

Sophie put on a straight face, attempting to show she wasn't scared. But I knew she was terrified. "I'm not scared of you, any of you. I know everything and let me tell you, I'm going to make sure you all are dead. And yes, your daddy will be the one to kill you." She leaned closer to me hesitantly. "You are not the hero of this story and it won't end well for you."

I smirked at her, "I might not be the hero," I leaned closer to her, "but at least I get to see how it ends." When I said that, her fearful face came back.

I grabbed ahold of her neck and sank my teeth deep inside of her. She screamed as I sucked the life out of her.
