Leighton's had pulled me across to Zion's room, Beryl and Quinn had slipped into the room after getting changed into a fresh pair of clothes, no doubt that they had been trying to clean up the blood.
Zion's room was full of puzzles and toys that seemed way to complicated for me. There were gigantic playing cards that had been fitted to the wall and when you pressed your hand to the symbol of ace the door would move, revealing a closest full of old looking clothes and the other door lead to a wash room. His whole room was themed like a casino, except it had child like toys that only masterminds could solve.
"He can't solve any of these games without the help of L-Master here." Leighton boasted, pressing his thumb to his chest.
Zion flicked him in the back of the head, sticking his tongue out him, "I can, dumby."
"Can not."
"Can too."
"Can't."
"Can."
"Ca-"
Before Zion could mutter a word, a black pillow was thrown square in his face as fast a frisbee. Damnnn. Zion peeled the pillow from his lap, a fake angry glared directed at a nonchalant Beryl. Zion turned around to give Leighton his most innocent smile.
"Wait til' they end up rolling around on the floor like a bunch of drunks." Beryl muttered in my ear, coming to sit next to be on the velvet love seat.
"Pretty sure the only drunk here is you," Quinn smirked, sitting on the other side of me, only for his hand to loop around my waist and pull me onto his firm lap. "Don't ever let him convince you to drink, he can actually hold his liqueur."
Leighton and Zion were now rolling about on the floor, Lee was on top of Zion, continuously throwing a pillow at Zion's chest. "Pillow fight!" Lee screamed, probably busting his lungs.
He's crazy. But you love it.
Beryl jumped up, pillows in both hands, "This will teach you to call me a drunk!" Beryl threatened, bringing the pillows down on Quinn and I. Mainly myself though.
"Woah, I'm not being Q's wall!"
I grabbed the closest pillow next to me, getting to my feet and hitting Beryl with the pillow. I could feel a smile eternally staining my lips, the though of stupid moments like this making me remember why I love them.
After several minutes of screaming, hitting and giggling like maniac's, I fell beside Beryl, a large grin on both of our faces. Zion and Leighton had both rolled our way, loud panting coming off from them. Quinn laid beside me, both of them encasing me in the warm presence.
The atmosphere suddenly changed, small sniffles coming from where Leighton and Zion were, "I hate myself," Leighton mumbled, looking up blankly to the dark ceiling. "Good actions come with bad consequences. Depend on those who are supposed to help yet it only leads to self destruction with more witnesses."
Wow...shit, happiness comes with knowing the difference of pain. And it isn't a surprise but it's... it's something more human then most of us.
No-one said anything, afraid of Leighton's delicacy. He was always a mix of flower delicate; touch him and his petals will fall apart or touch him and feel the cuts of broken class. But I want to pick up his broken shards and glue him together and if I can't, it doesn't matter. I won't give up on him.
"I'm here because I become my own vigilante, I was just hacking about and one day I stumble across Paradises' files. I find about the fact that they have a secret base here, in Cali, and all the others around the world. I tipped off the police anonymously yet I was too dumb to see how the place was under Paradises' ruling. Next thing I know, I'm here, working for Paradises' network. Destroying our only chances."
By the end Leighton was a sobbing mess, staining Zion's shirt with tears. Zion occasionally shushed him, pressing his lips to Lee's forehead, other times he had one hand on Leighton whilst the other was on a black ribbon that had been tied into his shirt.
Leighton turned to look at me, his red puffy eyes dancing round my face, taking me in like it was the last time, "Could you love someone who could have saved you from here?"
Shit. A deer trapped in the head lights. But, I think I'm here because I loved someone who never saved me.
Zero had told me not think let alone talk about escaping, to make Paradise believe that I think the idea is wrong. "I could never have fallen in love with you if I wasn't here," Truth, not condoning the idea of escape, just telling that he helped me find love, "Leighton, we've all made mistakes, I mean, how am I here without making my own mistakes?"
Quinn laid behind me, his hand trailing little designs on my hip and his chest was flush against me. "Well done, Lou." He whispered, his teeth nipping at my ear.
Leighton leaned back on his elbows, a broken smile dancing on his lips. "You are so innocent, like way more innocent then me. But that's okay, because I love you." Leighton was up in a flash, his lips gently pressing his lips against mine, our body's molding together.
I still worry about you, so, please don't hide how you feel.
Quinn and Beryl had moved to one of the couches, allowing Leighton and Zion to pull me over the the king sized bed for one long ass night. Leighton's tears the thing of the past, for him that is, but, I'll find out more.
Sooner or later.
