It was now Sunday morning, and Clementine was woken up by the sweet chirps from the birds outside of her bedroom window. She grunted as she stared up at her ceiling, trying to process everything that was happening. Realisation flew over her as she pounced up out of her bed and checked her phone. It was sat in its usual place, on her bedside table. The list of missed calls and ignored texts went on and on. Most of them were from Brody and Marlon, but a few were from Louis. Despite how they'd last spoken, she saved his number. Just so she'd know to ignore when he called, even though she was ignoring everyone. When Lee called her at the party, she ignored him too. She deeply regretted it; it was as if she had forgot about the people that cared for her the most. She then neatened her bed covers and walked over to her full-length mirror that was on the wall, beside her closet. She looked a mess, her eyes held massive bags, her hair was all unkept, dried tears stains on her cheeks and her dress was heavily creased. She didn't even think about taking it off, she just wanted to sleep. Let all the pain go away.
She pulled her closet door open, quickly grabbed her peach dressing gown and threw it on before leaving her room. Her legs quickly carried her down the stairs and she headed to the front room. Her little brother was busy playing on his PS4, enjoying himself while talking to a few friends. "On me! Help! I need help!" He yelled as he leaped in his chair. "Whatcha playing goofball?" Clementine asked as she leaned against the door frame. The boy looked up at her for a quick second before he pressed his index finger against his lips, then looked back at the TV screen. The teen rolled her eyes as she strolled to the kitchen to see Lee cooking.
A sweet aroma entered her nostrils as she moved closer to the source. "Good morning Lee." She spoke. The bearded man gasped as was caught by surprise, he nearly threw the pan off the stove. "Clem?!" He screamed, as he quickly glanced over at her, "Why didn't you answer my calls yesterday? Where were you? I was worried sick." He spoke as he furrowed his brows and looked down at the short girl. "I'm sorry Lee, I should have told you. I went my friend's house for a while." She lied as she looked down at the floor. "I'll let this one slide, but next time you have to tell me, you understand?" He demanded as he gave her a stern but reassuring glare.
"Thanks Lee." She spoke as she wrapped her arms around him. "No problem, sweet pea." He grinned as he squeezed her tight. He looked at her eyes as he let go of her, "You look like you've been crying, missing your parents?" He asked as he gave her a reassuring smile. "Uhm, yeah..." She lied as she walked over to the coffee machine and pored some in her favourite mug. "Well if you ever need to talk, I'm here." She smiled at him as she walked back into the front room. She then sat down next to her brother, now that he'd calmed down. "You wanna play?" He asked as he handed her the bronze controller and grinned brightly. She held it in her hand, not having an idea what do to with it. He noticed this, he then explained what to do. After about 10 minutes, she was playing pretty well. They were playing 'Fortnite', it was AJ favourite game t the time. Since she'd just started, building wasn't her strong suit, but she was really good at killing other players. Not like it's a good thing, being able to kill people.
After an hour of playing, Lee entered the room. "Sweet pea, get something to eat. Also, can you take Alvin Junior to the park? He's been asking for a while." Clementine looked up at him and smiled, "Sure. I'll get dressed now." With that she dashed upstairs and changed her attire. She rushed back down wearing: A striped yellow and white long sleeve tee, and denim overalls. She was also wearing black ankle-length Vans. Clementine ran in the kitchen to see a plate of food waiting for her. It was bacon and eggs, something she liked. She quickly gobbled the food and then ran into the main room. "I'm ready." AJ and Lee looked at her shocked, she wasn't one to get ready so quickly. "What's the rush?" Lee asked. Clementine opened the front door, "I just want to get some fresh air, that's all." And with that, the three strolled outside and Lee jumped into his car. "Where are you going?" Clementine asked as she stopped at the end of the yard. "I'm going to Carly's, you remember her, right? I'll be back in a few." Clementine shrugged as she started to walk to the park, AJ by her side holding his soccer ball.
