Anyway, back to the story- 😎
*DING DONG!*
"That's probably them." Clementine spoke as she lifted from her bed and dashed towards her tall wooden door. Gabe and Duck quickly looked each other in the eyes, before watching the brunette leave the room. "Who's them?" The beanie-wearing boy asked, his legs were crossed and he was leaning into his arms. Duck soon remembered who Clementine was so excited to see. "Oh, they're her friends. They're pretty cool from what she's told me, and they're also going to the party." Duck smiled brightly as he got up from the bed and strolled over to a white plastic bag that was leaning up against the wall. "What did you pick to wear? Mr. 'my uncle's a baseball player'." Duck joked as he carried the bag to Clementine's bed. "Hey!" Beanie boy frowned, crossing his arms, "I don't even like baseball, I just want to dress up as a baseball player, is that too much to ask?"
Duck chuckled as he lifted his own costume out of the bag, "Yeah, and it has nothing to do with Clem liking baseball?" Gabe's face instantly turned a red as a tomato, "You're acting like you don't like her too!" He accused, pointing his overly bitten nails at the short haired boy. "I don't like her like that. She's my best friend." He'd dropped the outfit to his thighs to knock Gabe's hand away from his face. Gabe instantly rolled his eyes while leaning back onto the bed and plugging his earphones into his ears. Duck had recently met him and understood why him and Clementine's relationship didn't go far. He was an over sensitive teenager, of course.
The tall door soon swung open revealing a group of mismatched teens, all ranging from different heights and sizes. Louis' face was quite surprised to see two boys he didn't know on her bed. "Guys, this is Gabe and this is Duck." She pointed to the individuals before dragging the others into her room and locking it shut. Marlon and Brody sat down on the bean bag that hadn't been moved from when they'd sat on it before. Violet and Minerva shared Clementine's orange office chair, and Louis sat in between his new acquaintances. "Alright you can get ready if you want, we still have a couple hours." Clementine announced, squeezing between Louis and Gabe.
It didn't take too long before they started to gather the costumes, makeup and get to work. Minerva was sat on the chair alone as Brody patted light strokes of eye shadow on her eyes, "Girl, you're looking like a queen!" Minerva had decided to be a lumberjack, a 'sexy' one. She made the excuse that everyone dresses sexy for a Halloween party. Well, she was correct, partially.
Since Brody was busy helping Minerva, Marlon had nobody to help him look like a werewolf, so he bugged Violet into helping him instead. For revenge, she made him look more like a rat, quite fitting. Clementine had helped Louis, Gabe and Duck, even though Duck didn't need much help. "Put your arms straight!" She groaned. Louis did exactly as he was told as Gabe watched in annoyance. "Clem, I need help too." Gabe interrupted, "My T-shirt looks weird." He made up some excuse for Clementine to leave Louis and attend him. As she went to help, Louis pulled Clementine in for a warm hug, nearly squeezing all the air from out her lungs. Her head was rested up against his firm chest, "What's up Lou?" She asked looking up at his freckled face. "I just needed a hug." His smile was bright, much brighter than she'd seen before, but it looked like an act.
Once he'd let go, she went to help beanie boy, leaving Louis to help himself. He sighed as he sat down on the bed next to Duck. "He's really childish don't you think?" Duck asked. Louis shrugged his shoulders as he looked over at Clementine and Gabe. She looked so happy with him in Louis' opinion, and it did hurt him, it really did. But this made him want to try harder, let her know that she meant the world to him. "I'm guessing you're her new boyfriend?" Duck chuckled, leaning forward to see a reaction.
