Chapter 9: Jealousy

Severus's POV

I was late getting to lunch because I had checked up on Horace. On my way I saw Smith and Andy.. holding hands..

"Ms. Smith!"

She turned around and looked at me

"Yes, Professor?" She asked with a smile

"Do you want to extend your detention? Ms. Smith?" I asked coldly

"You said out of the classroom, that is was I was doing, Severus." She smacked her mouth as soon as she said my name, "Shit, I'm an idiot."

"For now your detention is.. excused.. Ms. Smith.. Have a good day.." I said trying not to expose the hurt in my voice.

I walked away back to my classroom and locked the door, and slide against it, head in my hands..

"Does she still have.. feelings for me?" I waited a few seconds in hope of an answer.

"Don't be ridiculous, Severus.." I answered myself

Erin's POV

"The nerve of that man." I said to myself angrily while writing the assignment Snape gave us.

"Woah, Erin. You need to relax. Keep writing that hard and you'll break your quill." Andy smiled and rubbed my back

"I just. He just..." I grunted in frustration.

"Hey, it gets like that sometimes." He said

"Whatever, I'm done. Can you check this over and see if it's okay?" I asked handing him the papers

"Yeah, sure." He took the papers out of my hand and read over them, it took him like 10 minutes, "Erin, it looks fine. You honestly did it perfectly, well at least to me, I can't see through his eyes."

"Thanks." I said putting the paper in my bag and got up to leave.

"Erin, you can't get mad over him, he's just like that from what I've seen." Andy sighed and grabbed my wrist, "Just, stay out of his way and not give him attitude."

"I give attitude when he gives assignments in class that are always pointed at me!" I yelled a little to loudly

We were in the common room so I don't think anyone heard, it was my free period and Andy just skipped being an assistant. I started to head to my next class, Snape's class.

I angrily walked to his class, and dreading seeing him after what happened. I left Andy in the common room, but he was still close behind, just giving me my space.

I opened the door to the classroom, and Snape looked at me.

"Smith, knock before you enter." He sighed

"Of course." I said sarcastically.

I took my seat and wrote down notes for today, I was about 10 minutes early.

I got up realizing I had to turn in my papers that he assigned, I walked over to his desk and handed him the papers.

"Here, the assignment you told us to write.." I said softly

He grabbed the papers and his fingers brushed mine, I jerked my hand away and he read the papers.

"Smith.. this is.. perfect, you wrote what I said to, which is basically impossible." He looked at me shocked

"It was a real life experience, I was through it. I've been through a lot lately." I sighed

"Well.. good job." He smirked.

I sat back down and student came into the room, Draco sat beside me.

"Alex I need to talk to you.. at lunch.." Draco said very sadly.

"Is everything okay?" I said softly

"No, but I'll tell you at lunch." He sighed

I nodded and continued writing more notes.

My classes went on, what seemed like forever. I was on my way to lunch by myself and I bumped into someone, due to me reading and walking, and to my clumsiness.

I fell backwards and landed on my ass. "Ow." I said very monotone

"Smith, I'm sorry. But watch where you're going, maybe take your nose out of a book?" He sighed and helped me up.

"Thanks, and sorry for having my nose stuck in my book." I sighed and walked away, I could feel his eyes on me, so I turned around, "What?"

"Um.. you just.. remind me of your mother.. Lily." He smiled a little, "Have a good day, Smith."

"You too, Sev.. Professor Snape." I smiled and walked away, still feeling his eyes on me.

Snape's POV

"You too, Sev.. Professor Snape." She smiled and walked to the Great Hall, I was still looking at her...

I walked to Dumbledores office, whispered the password and walked into his office.

"I know you saw a body, but what if... it wasn't hers, could've used Polyjuice Potion." I said sitting down with my head in my hands.

"It could be, Severus, but.. we can't tell now.. the body is.. gone." He sighed

"I just... I can tell.. what if she's alive?! What if she's trying to reach her! But she can't because she's too far or because she's.. shes.. not us.." I sighed and realize how crazy I sounded

"Witches and Wizards.. they could take forever to figure out.. unless told.. she could be Severus, but it's not certain, still. The body is gone, and there's nothing we can do right now." Albus said

"You're right.. and I sound crazy, she has just seemed different ever since she's been gone."

"Everyone mourns for a while after the death of someone." He frowned and I got up, walking out..

Erin's POV

"Draco? What did you need to tell me?" I asked but he just stared into space, we were at the end of the table where many didn't sit at so we were basically alone at the table.

"Erin, I have to do something.. for.. for.. he who shall not be named.." Draco whispered.. I knew he was a death eater now.. he's been a little different since after the week I didn't see him in summer.

"What? Draco.. what does he need you to do?" I asked grabbing his hand and intertwining our fingers to comfort him.

"Erin, it's... I can't.. he'll kill me if I can't do this.. I don't want to die.. I didn't want to be associated with him the first place.. I hate.. my father.. I hate all of this.." he said shakily

"Draco.. it's okay.. what's happening?" I asked again

"Erin, he needs me to.." he paused for a moment,
