- the next day -
~ Amanda's POV ~
"No fucking way!" Heather screeched out in the bathroom of the bar, her voice echoing against the tile walls.
"I seriously can't believe this is happening!" Melissa exclaimed excitedly.
"I honestly can't believe it either," I said, a helpless smile falling onto my face after thinking back to last night. Vince had proposed to me. I was engaged. And I had a ring on my finger to prove that all of it wasn't a dream. "I just hope everything works out."
"Of course it will. It was spontaneous...and perfect!" Heather reassured me, tightly grasping my arm as we looked at ourselves in the dingy mirror in the bathroom. "You two are going to be so happy together, I wanna cry," she said, already tearing up.
"I'm so happy for you, Amanda," Melissa said, coming to hug me from behind. She moved so that she was standing next to me and then she started fixing her hair in the mirror.
"We should probably get out there before we miss the show," I said, smiling at my two best friends in the mirror before we all headed out to go watch Ratt play their classic Saturday night show. Part of me wished that I could also celebrate my news with Lauren, we had grown really close there for awhile. That was until, you know, getting engaged to her ex-husband and everything.
"There's my beautiful girl," Vince said immediately as we joined their group at the side of the stage.
I walked over to be closer to him and he pulled me down so that I was sitting on his lap and I giggled slightly in response. He put his hand around my hip, resting it on my thigh. I turned back to look at him and he immediately planted his lips onto mine. He curled his fingertips into my leg as he kissed me harder, only pulling away when our audience had a complaint.
"We get it, you two," David said, chuckling and looking over to Vince and I getting cozy with one another.
I turned around to see almost everyone in our area watching us and I started to feel a little embarrassed. That was until Vince's arm tightened around me and pulled me closer to him. The feeling of being close to him made me feel safe and like nothing could ever happen to me. I didn't care what the rest of them thought, even if we were being a bit obnoxious.
"Yeah, you can do that later," Tommy chimed in in a joking manner.
I leaned into Vince's shoulder as soon as Ratt started their set for the night. I never felt better and everything seemed to be right where it should be. After awhile, I tried to get up from sitting with Vince, but his arm kept me pinned down.
"Where are you going?" Vince whispered eagerly into my ear.
"The bathroom," I said back quietly. Then I turned and leaned closer into him, "are you coming or what?"
He helped lift me off of his lap and followed me to the bathroom. Our whole group of friends watched us walk away, knowing exactly what we were up to. Vince put his arm around my waist and flashed lustful eyes at me as we made our way into the quiet privacy of the empty hallway.
"Damn," Vince said, gently pushing me against the wall of the hallway. "I've been waiting to get you alone all night," he muttered under his breath before starting to kiss my cheek and then sloppily moving down my neck.
"We practically just got here, baby," I said back softly as he left little marks on my neck.
"I know," he said, stopping his motions so that he could look into my eyes. "It's too hard to stay away from you," he whispered suavely before moving to kiss me, this time more passionately and with a strong intention.
