~ Vince's POV ~

A few weeks had gone by since the Minneapolis show and things were going along smoothly, at least for me. I was managing my day to day life and getting along quite nicely knowing that Amanda and I had planned our next meetup the coming week.

We were taking a shuttle to our venue for the night, and it was a long drive, in traffic. I couldn't help but think about Nikki and Tommy's situations instead of my own. It felt good to worry about other people for a change.

As for Nikki, he was still using and falling in and out with Lita. She came to a few of our shows and for a couple of days they were acting like they were married and all over each other. Then the next day, she was just gone. I figured that Nikki had said something to upset her, again. But I learned from our fist fight a few weeks ago, to stay out of his business.

Tommy seemed to be falling apart at the seams. Over the phone Amanda told me that she had spoken to Heather. She said that she wanted time and space to think things over, and I can't imagine how she must be trying to work through all of that in her head. For a few days, Tommy was getting blackout drunk and passing out everywhere we went because of it. Then he didn't drink anything for a week and they actually spoke on the phone. I don't know many details because he doesn't seem to want to discuss it.

"What are you daydreaming about back there?" Nikki asked me, turning around in his seat to see me gazing out the window, deep in my thoughts.

"Wouldn't you like to know," I teased in a mocking tone. Nikki had been critical of me ever since I was keeping things relatively sober, especially since I was keeping things in my pants. I guess he couldn't imagine himself doing either of those things.

Nikki turned back around and groaned as the taillights in front of us seemed to never end. I closed my eyes and soon Tommy's elbow soon hit my side to wake me up when we reached the venue. We all walked out and were escorted into our own dressing rooms.

I slipped on my stage outfit and sat down at the mirror to put on my makeup and to tease my hair into its rightful place. I was getting scary good at how fast I could bust out my look.

We played the show, one of our best yet, and we all took our final bow. We walked off the stage and I grabbed a towel and pressed it against my forehead, the lights and running around really made me sweat.

"What are you boys up to tonight?" Doc shouted over the loud audience cheering as we all struggled to come down from the high of the show. We went over to where he was standing and waited for him to start lecturing us. "I don't wanna get any phone calls from a jail cell later," he said, pointing his finger at Nikki.

Tommy and I gave each other a grim smile and waited for Doc to be done talking. He reminded us of our flight the next afternoon and a whole bunch of other stuff that I didn't hear over the sound of my own thoughts.

"Don't be late either!" He shouted before turning around and leaving the backstage area.

"See you later, losers," Nikki said, turning to follow Doc through the doors.

"Let's get some booze," Tommy said, gesturing for me to follow him. We, too, walked through the doors and dozens of dazed fans shouted in happiness that we were all walking through here. Nikki was signing some guy's t-shirt, and I saw Doc's head struggling to find his way out of the crowd. As usual, Mick was nowhere to be found.

We weaseled our way through the crowd, hands touching me in places I didn't particularly enjoy. We finally reached the doors that exposed the cool Boston air, it feeling soothing against the heat from the stage and from the crowd.
