~ Amanda's POV ~
- two weeks later -
After our girl's night a few weeks ago, I haven't had many opportunities to see any of them since. I had been so busy with art projects, applying to live in different apartment buildings, and trying to find the occasional Friday night hookup. Not my finest hour, but I was learning to get by.
Not to my surprise, I hadn't heard a word about Lauren and Vince being engaged. I just knew it was her rambling on in her drunken state. Maybe she let that slip out because they had talked about the idea, or maybe it was actually true and they just weren't going to tell anybody. My bet is on the first one.
I also haven't seen or spoken to Axl at all since that night at his apartment door. Looks like he just needed to tell me that things were over between the two of us before he was just going to ditch me and pretend like we were never together in the first place.
Thankfully, it was already a Friday night. And nothing was going to get in my way of a nice round of drinks at the bar while watching Ratt play one of their famous shows tonight. Heather was feeling especially ill tonight, so just Melissa and I had plans to meetup and hang together during the show.
I threw on something really flashy to wear out tonight, you never know who you might run into on a night out on the town. I was teasing my hair and damaging it with hairspray when Melissa walked into my bathroom.
"You almost scared the living crap out of me!" I exclaimed, threatening to spray my hairspray as a defense mechanism. "I thought you were breaking in to murder me or something."
"Sorry," Melissa said, breaking out in laughter after seeing me get so surprised and defensive. "Your door was unlocked." Oh yeah, my bad.
"So, still nothing from Stephen?" I asked as Melissa started touching up her hair too.
"No," she said, looking a bit disappointed.
"Maybe you should tell him you're pregnant," I said mischievously, but totally joking. We both shared a good laugh to lighten the mood. I'm really surprised, I thought that Stephen would've proposed to her long before he even went on tour. And he's been home for months already. They've been together so long already, I'm sure that's why Melissa is getting impatient.
"Let's get out of here," Melissa said, grabbing my wrist and dragging me away from my hairspray and makeup. "We're going to be late." She pulled me out of my front door and we both quickly walked to the bar. Thankfully, the show hadn't started yet and we made our way backstage.
Since Lauren and I were finally getting along, Melissa and I went over to and sit by her, Vince, Tommy, and Nikki. My stomach still fell at the sight of Vince, we still hadn't talked to each other since I told him I didn't love him anymore. And since then, things haven't been very friendly between the two of us.
"Hey," Lauren said to us, patting the empty spot open on the couch next to her. Ratt was just starting their set and Lauren also questioned Melissa about Stephen proposing or not. She didn't seem outwardly upset about it, but I knew that it had to be bothering her.
"What did you say, hun?" Vince asked Lauren as he turned to face our conversation and away from the one he was having with Tommy and Nikki. Melissa and I looked to her with worry as to what she was going to say.
"Do you know anything about Stephen asking Melissa 'something'?" She asked back, innocently batting her eyelashes at him.
"That's top secret information," Vince said with a devious smile, "it's going to take a bit more than a simple question to get that out of me," he teased into Lauren's ear, making her blush. I practically gagged when I overheard that.
