Hoseok dragged me out of there before I could say anything to him. I looked at where he was taking me and saw that it was towards his car. Why was he here when he's supposed to be at work today? Did he finish early or something?

Hoseok opened the door, grabbed my shopping bags and pushed me inside before closing it. He opened the door at the back and threw the bags in. I stared at him as he got into the driver's seat, took off his mask and cap before driving away. I didn't ask where we were going or any of the questions I had in mind.

It was after ten minutes or so when I realised what had happened.

I turned to face him, "Did you just end my relationship with Dohyun?"

"I ended what you failed to end."

I noticed that his words were laced with anger and even though that scared me a little, I still fought back. "You have no right!"

"I have every right," he growled, eyes still on the road. "I get home and you're not there. I checked in with your father and you're not there. So, I decided to check around the area only to find you with your boyfriend."

"So?!"

"So," he glared my way, "why are you with that guy in broad daylight? Does it not occur to you that once you're married, you should leave all your boyfriends behind? That you should stay faithful and be respectful towards me?"

"Excuse me?!" I snapped. "You're the one who forced me to marry you, okay?! I never asked to marry a celebrity and I never wanted to as well! I had to quit my job that I love because of you, dammit! Now you end my relationship with Dohyun because you're an asshole!"

"Do you think I'm happy with this marriage too?" he growled, eyes back on the road. For some reason, my chest hurt when he said that. "I love my job and I'm happy with life to the point I could die. You? You came along and made things difficult for me. Sure, this marriage doesn't make either of us happy but I'm still willing to be a good husband to you because I know the price that comes with marrying a celebrity. What about you? You couldn't respect me and my celebrity status a little? I'm not caging you and asking you to stay inside the house every day. You're free to roam and meet with people but other men? You're the worst."

I felt like there was a lump in my throat. So I was just a burden then? Someone who he doesn't even want to marry? Then—

"Why?"

"Why what?" he snapped.

I swallowed, desperate to get rid of that lump in my throat. "Why did you marry me?"

Hoseok said nothing for a while.

"Why did you marry me and ruin my life like this?!" I cried.

"If I didn't marry you," Hoseok said, still pissed, "then someone else would have. Don't get me wrong. Your father loves you but he was desperate."

"What are you even on about?!" I cried.

Hoseok's eyes slid my way before it went back to the road. He said nothing for a while and I realised that he was keeping something from me.

"Tell me!"

Hoseok clenched his jaws, glaring at the road. He didn't say anything.

"Hoseok!" I snapped.

"Your father had debts," Hoseok scowled. "Lots of it. He needed someone to pay them off or he could end up dead somewhere. Your father suddenly approached me out of the blue and offered to give you to me."

My heart was thumping and I swear my vision blurred in a little.

"What?" I whispered.

"He was desperate," Hoseok continued on, "he needed the money and he was running out of time."

"Are you...are you saying he was planning to sell me?" I choked "No, that he sold me to you?"

"He gave me you," Hoseok corrected and I can't be sure, but I think he was trying to make it less negative and painful for me. "I figured, if I said no then there's a chance you'll end up hurting somewhere."

Tears welled in my eyes, "And what, you pitied me? That's why you—"

"Your father was a friend of my father," Hoseok cut me off, his eyes came to me before going back to the road. "It was like helping out a family friend. Besides, I couldn't let your father give you to some stranger for big bucks. You were safer with me so I did what I needed to do."

"So what, you feel obligated to look after me? Because our fathers were friends?"

"No one forces me to do anything," Hoseok said, eyes on the road. "You didn't deserve what your father was planning on doing. I figured I'll take you for three years and give you your freedom then."

Tears rolled down my face. "My shitty father sold me."

"He didn't sell you," Hoseok grunted, frustrated. "As far as I know, he approached me first. I gave him the money and he paid off all his debt."

I closed my eyes and looked away from him. Regardless of what happened, I still can't get over the fact that my life was ruined because of my father, not Hoseok. I thought it was because of Hoseok since he didn't mind marrying me but I was wrong. It still doesn't change the fact that marrying Hoseok had changed my life in a really big way.
