A/N: Hey guys! Bit of a long one here. I got started writting and couldn't figure out a good place to cut this off, so here you are. Also, just wanted to warn everyone that the tail end of this chapter is a bit... sexy. So, yeah. If you're not down with that, it may be a good idea to skip it.

Cesar woke up the next morning resolving to speak to Monse that night. He wasn't going to let her go without a fight, and he certainly wasn't going to treat her the way Oscar treated Letty ever again. She was too important.

The day faded into dusk quickly, it usually did when he was hanging around with Oscar and the guys. They were constantly doing nothing, but it made time fly past. As the sun set, Oscar waited for everyone to leave. Killing time with his skateboard, the guys started to peel off one by one.

Out of nowhere, he felt something knock into him.

"Ow!" He grunted, as his back hit the dirt, hard.

"You little bitch." Monse snapped

'Fuckin' A. Again!?' Cesar thought

But Monse was furious, her hands were slapping and ripping at anything she could reach.

"That hyna's wild!" Lucky laughed

Sad Eyes joined in, "She must be a freak on all fours"

"I fought for you," Monse shouted, "I had your back! And for what? For you to impress your puto friends and humiliate me?"

Cesar did his best to deflect her blows and not hurt her. He could barely breath with her sitting on top of him like she was, her weight was pressing against his bruised ribs that hadn't quite healed from initiation.

"Tell your bitch to keep that bark down" someone called, but Cesar couldn't see who and it seemed like Monse didn't care.

Oscar seemed amused, "Hermanito, you better back up before you get smacked up"

"Shut up Puto!" Monse yelled at him

Oscar glared, "Hey, watch it hyna."

Just then, Jamal and Ruby arrived. They wasted no time dragging Monse away. Cesar heard her going off on them while some of the guys were helping him up, but by the time he was on his feet and capable of saying anything, she'd already stormed away.

'Fuck' he thought

Another day lost.

Finally, on the Sunday before school started, Cesar was ready to pull his head out of his ass. He had to thank Letty, of course, who threw a category 5 fit in order to get Oscar to send the guys home early and take her to see a movie.

As soon as they left, he ran down the block to Monse's.

The first thing he noticed was that her dad's truck was gone, which likely meant that he wasn't home. Cesar wondered briefly if Mrs. Ruiz would be over, but when he didn't see her car, he decided to take his chances, and try the door. When it opened easily, he was unsure of whether to cheer at his luck, or be worried.

'If she lets me live tonight, I gotta talk to her about leaving this door unlocked. I don't know where the fuck she thinks she lives' he thought to himself as he walked through the living room.

He heard her voice then, followed by the sound of her father on the phone.

'Shit!' He thought, I should hide.

Fast as lightning, he dropped down behind the couch and listened, trying not to breathe as he heard Monse walk past him over to the door. He heard the lock slide into place, followed by the click of the two chains.
