I squinted my eyes. Feeling weak, I could not even lift my hands up. There was something warm on top of my forehead. I was sleeping on something very hard, and it smelled like wood. It was a wooden bed. The blanket covered my body until my chin. It was suffocating, and the only kind of people still who does that to others are the old and elderly people, who believes that by doing that it would make others feel better. I scanned the vicinity and realised that I was in an unknown place. I figured that this place was probably George's place.
"You awake?" The voice was coming from the door, but it had sounded younger than how George sounds. The cold voice echoed through the room as I quickly crept up, ready to leave the room when I realised that George was not the one outside of the door, and that I may have been kidnapped by somebody else. My luggage was beside the bed, and I held on to the handle, as ready as ever. The old door squeaked open. I immediately ran to the door, closing my eyes. Just as I reached the door, I felt something knock against my body.
"That hurts. Would you please be kinder to the grandson of the old man?!" I opened my eyes. Standing before me was a boy about my age.
"Repeat?" I asked innocently. The boy rolled his eyes. I further prompted him.
"You know teacher? Is this the teacher's house?" The boy remained silent and frowned at me.
"Why would old man bring this idiotic girl here." He muttered to himself, but it was loud enough for me to hear. I was preparing to lecture him when I heard that, but stopped when I saw George speeding towards the room.
"Isaac, have you given Sherrie the pill?" George interrogated. I shook my head vigorously, wanting to get this unfriendly boy into trouble.
"Why don't you give it yourself?" Isaac then stomped off. I was shocked. This boy had made me hate him even more. How could he treat his grandfather like that?
I turned my head back to George and tried to console him.
"Teacher.. Isaac is just...." He interrupted. "Shut up. Lets start our training now that you are so energetic to talk to me like we are close." I was stunned. Sweat dripped down my head and my heart was beating rapidly. Did I make teacher angry? But he didn't have to talk like that! How awful was he? It was no wonder Isaac would talk back to him.
Wanting to focus on the training instead of getting my heart filled with anger, I walked towards the nature from the room's door. A beam of light shone on my face as I exposed myself to outdoors. There were trees all around. The wooden house was sitting in the middle of the variety of trees like nobody's business.
As I walked forward, I reached the end of the ground. I then looked down to see only clouds. Terrified, I retreated back by a few steps. I was on a mountain. And a very high one too. However, I could not figure out how I got here. George climbed this high mountain carrying me and my luggage? It was absurd just by the thought of it. I was slowly convinced that teacher was indeed very strong.
I then ran to catch up to the already long gone and not in sight George who would lead me to the training ground. I heaved a sigh of relief as I caught up, and thought that George might have stopped for a while to wait for me.
Before me was a large piece of almost empty patch of land, with only a few rocks on it. I scanned the training ground, only to see Isaac beside one of the rocks. I cursed. Why would he be here?
"Sherrie, meet Isaac. As you already seem to know, he is my grandson. And he is going to train with you too. He, also is an incredible, and also has a unique ability. I won't tell you his ability, you see for it yourself. That's all. And Isaac, no playing around." George announced.
I groaned. So he is in the same circumstances as me? I knew I had to make friends with him in order to prevent any trouble during the 1 week of my training, so I reluctantly went towards him to try to shake hands. I stretched my hands out, five fingers stiffened, indicating a handshake. He turned his head away to my surprise.
"Start the training." He said in a monotonous voice. I was offended by the rejected handshake, and awkwardly retreated my hands, which clenched into a fist immediately. I decided that we were not made to be friends after all.
Teacher started by demonstrating. He used only one of his hands to shatter a rock into pieces. I stood there, mouth agape. George's ability should be the same as dad's, I thought.
Next, it was our turn to do it. Like what a smart girl would always do, I had graciously let Isaac start first. This way, i would see how he did it and copy his way if he had managed to do it.
If he fails, I would tell George that if even a boy could not do it, he couldn't expect a girl to do it. And therefore, I would be exempted from doing it. Either ways, I was the one that was going to benefit from it. I smiled wickedly.
"Isaac may start first." I said smugly. However I was greeted by an unfavorable reply when George said that we would do it together. I cursed once again. Tricking George was not that easy.
