I strained my eyes and systemed my body to get to work upon hearing the birds chirp excitedly. The chirps every morning was the only thing I could rely on waking me up. There was no other alarms in the mountains.

I refreshed myself by hitting my cheeks and dragged my lethargic body to brush my teeth. I was demotivated my the fact that training starts again, and I did not really try hard the day before, so I was certain that I would not do well today, too.

My meeting with both Isaac and George was awkward. As Isaac had been a bit emotional last night and I had witnessed it with my own two eyes, I guessed that he would have been embarrassed if he met me.

As for George, I've learnt about his ability and unknowingly put a barrier between two of us because he seemed like a person who would see through everything with the help of all his ability.

Breakfast seemed like eternity and there was pin-drop silence. I wanted it to end quickly and have the training started faster. At least I would have something to occupy my mind.

After minutes of suffering from the agony of not being able to squeeze a word out of my sealed mouth in the abnormal silence, time had finally gave in to me and enabled the time for training to arrive. We arrived at the training ground soon. There were rocks and strings there. George must have prepared them beforehand.

"Sherrie, I have noticed when we were eating breakfast... Your hand. It seems that you have made the contract." I smiled at George smugly.

"However, it also seems like you have used your ability after the training. Without my permission." It then came to me that George had told us to not use our abilities without permission.

"Sorry teacher. I just wanted to play around." I muttered, not wanting Isaac to hear and on the assumption that George could hear me with the sharp hearing ability.

"Ok. Clarifying the purpose of your training, both of your ability are useless in physical battles, you can't possibly use your abilities to harm enemies; they were only meant for support. And that is why both of you are training your combat strength."

I pouted. He didnt have to criticize our abilities! And what did he mean by enemies? I thought I was only here to stabilize Delphene so that I could still remain to be an incredible and stay with my family?

"Today's training is to train your thigh strength. You will run with the strings tied to your feets. Tie 5 rocks to each of the strings first, which makes the total burden 10 rocks. Run 10 rounds around the training ground, with one round approximately being 500 meters. After that, tie another 5 rocks to each of the strings, and repeat the procedure until the rocks tied adds up to 100. The rocks are all of the same size so there is no need to choose..." George mercilessly gave us the instructions for our task. I groaned. "

The usage of abilities is allowed." George then added. He must have found his conscience. Isaac brimmed with confidence, as if what happened yesterday has been left in history.

I reluctantly carried on with what I was supposed to do and tied rocks to the strings, which in turn has to be tied to my foot. I then tried to walk. The rocks repelled my pulling motion.

Completing this task was not an easy feat. Just as I thought smashing rocks were already formidable, the task presented in front of me was even more formidable. However, I knew that I needed to complete the 1 week of training as I had promised Mum that I would, and I could not give up so easily.

I dragged my legs to the starting point and started on my first 500 meters without much hesitation. Isaac was in front of me as he had started earlier. I used energy normally enough to last me a whole 5 hours to drag the burden around the training ground for the round. It took me a while to get used to the rocks tied to my legs.

The next rounds were better, as I can feel that my speed was slowly increasing and the burden seemed to have disappeared little by little.

My feet started by dragging, and as time passes it started to allow me to walk normally. The distance between me and Isaac decreased tremendously, and I started to even enjoy the process of training. I urged myself to walk faster in order to catch up to Isaac. I could feel strength gathering in my legs.

Before I realise it, I had already finished he first 10 rounds, getting past the finishing line just seconds after Isaac. I groaned at my failed attempts to overtake him, but deep down I was celebrating, for I had completed the rounds at a result better than I had expected.

I turned to look at George, who was standing under the comfortable shade of the house, and turned back to see the overbearing sun shining mercilessly on the training ground. From the corner of my eyes I could see George's old face crinkle up into a small smile. I was elated, but never mentioned more.

I stretched my hands out to take the last rock to tie to the string, and unwilling tied it.

As I scanned Isaac's string with rocks, I felt indignant for myself. George had added that the usage of abilities are allowed...so I could not do anything about it. The rocks tied to Isaac's strings were smaller in size, but given Isaac's competitive nature he did not make it such that the size difference between the given rock and his was huge, which served as a great comfort to me.

Isaac had manipulated the space inside the rocks, and that would make his task easier. I looked over at Isaac's shoulders and saw Dan on it. He did activate his ability, and hence it was essential for Dan to come to earth. Just then, my eyes brightened. I could call out Delphene and activate my ability too!

There was one time when I had placed my ability on my legs to extend its limit, and I could do it this time as well. I held out my palms and wished for Delphene, and shortly after, a bright sparkle appeared which turned into Delphene.

"Hello. I want to activate my ability on my legs to extend its limit." I stated my reason for calling her.

"Sure! The keywords are 'Time manipulation, activate. Go slower for my legs.' We need to say it together to multiply the power. On the count of 3?" Delphene answered. I consented to it.

"I'll do the count. 1,2..." I counted.

"Time manipulation, activate. Go slower for my legs." Both of us opened our mouths and spoke simultaneously. The chant was easy to say.

I blinked my eyes as always and I felt a gush of magical powers in my legs. We have succeeded in our first spell as a duo.
