Poem 4

498 13 2

As I stood at the periphery of my mind in solus.

I looked down from my precious
into the dark abyss

It was void of life, light, and love.

I stumbled back for this was my subsequent future.

The space beneath my feet began to fracture and fragment.

For I thought the light was inextinguishable.

Was I mistaken?

Is resistance futile?

For all the contents of my mind

I could never fill this void l.

As the shadows crept in around me.

The cold clawed up my legs cutting right to the bone.

My limbs began to feel heavy.

As I fell into the dark void that I was destined to be.

I awaken covered in cold beads of sweat.

But now I dread the dark...

For I know it is foretold to be where I dwell for the remainder of eternity.
