I was in at the bottom of the abyss.

It was cold and quiet.

The cold cut through my skin freezing my heart.

The sharp pain was only bearable compared to the deafening silence.

All but my body had surrendered to the abyss.

As I closed my eyes to the world only one thought "This is all right."

As I lingered there waiting to come to the cold touch of death.

Then a light shined through my eyelids causing me to open my eyes.

That's when I saw a light that was warm, soft, and strong.

As it shined on me, I began to feel light shine through my being.

I started to enjoy the light. I started to love the light.
