Poem 87

In a garden ravaged by time, I did roam.

Where no gardener had tended to for years.

A garden where weeds strangled the flowers and trees.

People in the garden stomped on the flowers.

I roamed further though the foliage.

Trying to find a place to be calm.

Instead, I found a vibrant flower surrounded by weeds.

I removed the weeds the best I could.

Watered the flower and watched it grow.

This flower was mine.

It made me start to see the other beauty in the garden.

But soon winter came and covered my little flower.

I do feel sad but I know it will bloom again.

Even if not for me.
