My heart once ran wild and free.

It pounded with such vigor.

Flowing with love and compassion.

That was met by understanding and acceptance.

Now my heart is locked away in a cage of bone.

Only beating to continue it's sorrow.

Freezing from bittersweet streams.

Met by pain and loneliness.
