My Ex, His Dad

Chapter 1

Camille is in her favorite place, the bookstore.Gustong gusto nito ang amoy ng bagong libro, the feel of the book when you flip the pages. Meron siyang kindle and nook na binili niya Online but nothing beats when you actually hold a book.

       Kung talagang mahilig kang magbasa, may tendency ka na maging book snob which means meron kang mga gustong authors at ayaw mong magbasa kung minsan ng ibang libro unless sinulat ng paborito mong author. She was looking for new books ng mga favorite authors niya.

       Nagbrowse si Camille ng mga books. She was impressed na marami selections dito. She was excited to look for new books to read.

       "You should read this. This is David Baldacci's new book. And I know that he's one of your favorite author."

She was caught by surprised. That voice sounds  so familiar. A voice from her past. She looked up. Her heart stopped and did the somersault. She know this guy!!! Oh yes!!!! She definitely know him. Her ex boyfriend, Luke! It has been three years but he can still make her heart skip a beat and take her breath away in spite of what had happened to them. He had been her life. And he look good .... no.......better ........more handsome than ever. He was standing there in front of him, smiling at her. His electric smile . Luke is half Filipino, half Italian.

      "Hi Elle", he said and continue giving her that devilish smile that she loved so much.

Gusto niyang tumakbo, gusto niyang umiwas but was rooted to the spot. She doesn't want to see him or talk to him but she had no choice right now but to acknowledge his presence. She tried to calm herself.
"Hi!" pilit na rin niyang sinabi.Hindi niya pwedeng ipakita that his mere presence still has that effect on her or even show him any intimidation.

     "When did you came back from the States?"tanong agad nito sa kanya.

     "Three days ago pa lang. May jet lag pa nga eh," sagot ni Camille looking at him." Naninibago pa."

"Really!!! And a coincidence that I met you here.," he said smiling."' I just got done meeting a client and decided to look for books to read,........Are you back for good or just on vacation?" he casually asked.

Camille thought, 'Of all the days, he chose today to go look for a book to read. Fate must testing her. She  had to think fast and kailangan niyang mag-ingat sa sasabihin niya dito." I'm just on vacation. Hindi lang ako sure when will I go back. May pinapaasikaso lang si Daddy sa akin dito,"sagot ni Camille na pilit wag ipakita how uncomfortable she is. She needed to cut this conversation short. She really doesn't feel comfortable talking to him.

"How's Dad and Mom? " he casually asked.
     It was not lost on Camille how he casually asked and called her parents Dad and Mom.  Ganoon naman talaga ang tawag niya sa dalawa before they separated.
     " They are both doing okay naman," sagot ni Camille. Ayaw na niyang dugtungan para hindi humaba ang usapan nila.
        But Luke is relentless. Parang ayaw nitong matapos ang pag-uusap nila."Oh okay! That's good to hear. Ummm  .....Elle, can I invite you for a cup of coffee at least and maybe we can catch up with each other," yaya ni Luke expectantly and smiling at her.

Pilit siyang nagsmile. " I am so sorry but I need to meet with Dad's lawyer in 15 minutes,"sagot agad ni Camille. "Maybe some other time. Coffee would be nice." sabi nito pero ang totoo ay ayaw niyang mag-usap sila. Too much complications. But this should appease Luke, naisip ni Camille. She hoped.

He look disappointed but still smiled and said " Yeah, no problem. I understand" paused for a bit. " Are you staying in  Corinthians?" He asked her referring doon sa bahay nina Camille.
