Stampy's POV
Through the window of the train I see the outskirts of the town where Squid lives. Finally, this is really happening! I'm actually visiting Squid! For some reason, ever since we met, he'd always been the one to visit me, probably because he had a car. Strangely, I've always wanted to go visit him at his home. However this trip will be different. This time, I'm going to confess my love for him.
When we first Skyped each other, I'd noticed how cute he looked. It was a surprise for me, as I'd never had any feelings toward another guy. I'd even had a girlfriend a few years back. But eventually, I had to accept that I really liked Squid. I hadn't told anyone.
There's a cough beside me.
"Sorry sir, but the train has stopped. I'm afraid you're going to have to get off." The trolly lady smiles at me.
"Sorry, I must have got lost in my thoughts."
I hurry past her, embarrassed. I'd been too busy thinking about Squid to even notice a freaking train stopping! Geez, what is wrong with me?
I step out onto the train platform, dragging my bag behind me. I scan the station, looking my best friend. My phone goes off. I answer it, and hear Squid's voice on the other side.
"Hey mate."
"Squid, what's up?"
"I'm really sorry, but my car's broken down. You're going to have to get a bus over here, I'll be happy to pay for it when you get here." Squid sounds genuinly upset.
"No problem mate, I'll be there soon.'
"Okay, I'll send you the directions. See ya." He hangs up without waiting for me to reply. I smile. My phone goes off again, signalling the text that contains the directions. Now all I have to do is find a bus stop.
I rumage in my bag for my wallet, but feel nothing that size or shape. No, no, this can't be happening! In a desprate attempt I empty the entire contents of my bag onto a nearby seat. Clothes, recording equipment, my Mac, and other little bits pile up onto the bench. No money. Great.
A woman walking past gives me a strange look. I don't blame her, seeing as I'm holding a pair of underwear. I stare straight back at her until she turns away. I hastily shove all my belongings back into my bag and stand. I'll just have to walk. No problem.
The first street, James Street, is just to my left. I follow that street for a way, then turn right. I turn many more times until I loose track. My bag is giving me a lot of trouble. The rollers bump at the slightest crack, making the whole bag jerk repeatedly. I think of Squid, sitting in his lounge watching TV, maybe keeping an eye out for me. I miss him and it's only been half an hour since we last talked.
A drop of rain falls on my head. Perfect. Now it's starting to rain. I turn right again, before checking my phone to see where to turn next. When I try to wake it up, the screen remains black. I let out a scream of frustration. For the first time since setting off, I feel a tinge of fear. This day was supposed to be the best day of my life so far, and now I'm lost. Hopefully I can remember the general direction. If I can find a petrol station, I can ask for directions there. Sighing, I set off again.
Squid's POV
Stampy sure is taking a long time to get here. He was due to arrive nearly ten minutes ago. Maybe he'd just missed the bus. I smile. Typical. I pick up my phone and dial his number. It goes straight to the answer phone.
