Squid's POV
Stampy's still lying next to me when I wake. I freeze. I actually kissed him! My stomach does a nervous flip. Did he like it? Or was he just being 'polite'? I hope I didn't force anything on him.
He likes me though, or he says he does. Surely that must count for something. I nearly gasp. What's my father going to say?
I haven't even told him I'm gay. As far as he knows, I'm still straight. Geez, I didn't even know I was gay until a few days ago, when I first got told that Stamps was coming over. I didn't know it then, but I already had a crush on him. I smile to myself.
Stampy begins to stir beside me. I kiss his forehead softly and stand up, causing him to wake fully.
"Hey Squid," he says. I smile.
"Good morning." I glance at him before looking away. I feel myself redden, and I don't even know why. Stampy seems to notice.
"About last night..." He begins. I feel my stomach tighten with nerves.
"I meant what I said." I grin lopsidedly at him. He grins back. So he really does like me.
I continue into the kitchen and find it empty. Nothing's in the fridge or cupboards, apart from some wilted lettuce and rotten fruit. For some reason I haven't bought meat for ages, and I'd run out a few days ago. I sigh and walk back out of the kitchen again.
"Hey Stamps, we've run out of food." He pretends to cry.
"No! What are we going to do?" He clutches his heart like he's having a heart attack.
"Fancy a trip to the shops?" I ask him. He looks at me with relief.
"My hero!" I punch him softly on the arm as I go to get my wallet. When I come back Stampy is standing by the door. He opens it and after I've locked it, we head out onto the street. My car sits unworking in the driveway. I really need to get it serviced.
The sun shines brightly down on us as we walk down the street. So much has changed since yesterday, and not just the weather. Casually, I grab Stampy's hand. He glances at me and smiles. I smile back.
Stampy's POV
We walk the rest of the way to the supermarket hand in hand and only let go when we walk through the doors. A woman walking out at the same time gives us a dirty look and walks in front of us on purpose, causing us to press our selves up against the wall. I just roll my eyes, but I can't help the blush rising on my cheeks. Squid pulls me into the shop.
I follow him over to the vegetable section where he picks some carrots off the shelf.
"Do squids eat carrot?" I ask, grinning.
"This one does." He grins back. He goes on to pick some lettuce, eggplanst, potatoes, and a quarter pumpkin. Moving onto the fruit, I pick up a hollowed-out half watermelon and put it on my head like a helmet. I walk in front of Squid and stick my arms out.
"Urghhhhhhhh..." I groan like a zombie.
"Nice hat Stamps," Squid chuckles. Something in the corner of my eye catches my attention. It's... It can't be!
Without further explanation I grab Squid and pull him behind the nearest counter.
"Wha-?" he begins. I shove my hand over his mouth.
