The Lupin baby girl is now nearly two weeks old; her hair is a beautiful light brown and eyes have turned her father's green. She has a creamy skin color. Remus was awed at his daughter's innocent beauty as he bounced her in his arm while Rue was taking some time to herself. He kept a good eye on the clock to see she has been gone for nearly two hours. The new father grew nervous as Rosalyn grew antsy as she was getting hungry. All he could do was keep her little seven pound body moving till Rue arrived.
Rue hurried back to her room when she realized that she needed to feed the baby, but she was stopped by someone she wasn't in the mood for today or ever. He wouldn't let her pass. Her chest now starting to hurt, adding to her mood change. His long arms crossed across his chest and a clear distaste on his still serious face.
"I don't have time for this. I have to feed the baby so please let me move. "
"Not until I say what I need to."
Rue never combatted anyone due to her nervousness around too much attention. She waited for him to finish what he needed to say because in the back of her mind; she knew Remus was going to be looking for her.
"You can't lie to me, dear sister. Black could only have gotten onto these grounds by the doing of your husband. We both know Lupin can't live without somebody directing his every step." Severus snided
Rue remained quiet for little while longer, calming herself so she wouldn't snap to give him more reason to keep his nose over her shoulder.
"You are a brilliant witch and can easily forced yourself into labor to keep the lime light on yourself. "
"Excuse me? How dare you accuse me of putting my child's life in danger and mostly for aiding a criminal! You may hate me and everybody knows you hate Remus, but that is a low down blow to ever think I would put any child's life in danger for A friend who took a wrong turn!"
Severus seemed unfazed by her blow-up. He merely stared into her eyes to her only piece of flashy jelewery which was her wedding band.
"I am not accusing; I know this. You were always stuck up Remus ever since he said he wanted to date you. Sadly you didn't care for my wished went ahead and did, showing me you were just another Trollop. "
Rue felt tear pierce her eyes when she heard the insult; her own brother just basically slapped her in the face with his harsh insult. She not only was crying for hurt, but from pain and the sound of a crying baby approaching.
"I was not! Remus is and was a gentleman. He gave me attention that I never had from my own family! To you he might be a monster to you, but to me he was my saving light. I fell in love with a real man not somebody who was out for free sex and a good show. So, you can stop eyeballing my ring and insulting my family. Maybe if you weren't such codger you would have someone instead of making everybody else feel like shit under your nose." Rue's worlds caught the thirty-two year old man, who rounded the corned to see a fear stained wife and an unemotional man, " Just stay away from them and me. Keep all your negative insults, energy, and moods up your own ass. To make sure we are clear, dear brother, no wonder you had no friends and the only one you did you pushed her away like me. Don't blame anybody for you loneliness but yourself!"
She turned on her heels to see Remus standing there, trying to consult the screaming infant. Her hands still shaking with hurt, and he could clearly see. Instead of saying anything, the man wrapped his arms around her shoulders, directing his distraught wife elsewhere. The baby caught sight of her mother and instantly quieted down as if knowing something wasn't right. Once they reached his classroom, Rue was set in his seat and handed the infant. She cradled the baby tightly, and she fed the hungry child while Remus rummaged through his trunk. He stood to his full height, reproached Rue, and kneeled in front of her. His dark green eyes that were easily mistaken for blue at times bore into her lighter ones as he dried her tears. Rosalyn finished and before Rue could fix her top; Remus did. He pressed his lips to hers, easing the tension in her shoulders. She laid her head on his shoulders and let out all her hurt. The tear stain on his sweater wasn't a concern as much as the words Severus threw at her. She stood there and took it, yet defending her family's honor.
"Don't you listen to him. You are a beautiful woman who I am very lucky to have. His words are that just words; he only wants power over you. Don't let him have it, love. We love you very much, and all you need in this world is our beautiful daughter and me." He whispered into her ear which sported her new pink, black, and silver earrings.
Rue smiled as she lifted her head and had her cheeks redried. Rosalyn wrapped her hand around her mother's finger.
"See.."
"I not only see. I feel. " Rue countered; Remus kissed her forehead and pulled out her favorite chocolate.
Rue chuckled and smiled a large toothy grin at her husband's encouragement.
