O.W.L.S were now in full swing. Students studying and rushing around to get their grades up enough so they can pass to the next year. Teachers were tutoring, helping where they can to make sure the children were at the necessary area. Remus was especially busy with full moon, his family, studying his best friends and enemy's every move; he would fall fast asleep as soon as he hit the pillow. Rue and Rosalyn supported the only man in their life, but Rue was growing fed up with his obsession. She stayed up one night with him as he watched Sirius walk his trail few times before stopping at the Black Lake.
"You have got to let this go! Moony, this is getting ridiculous... I will leave with our daughter if you can't focus on what you have right here. I miss them to; Sirius is innocent, but this will not bring back James and Lily!" She exclaimed, standing to leave the room, but Remus gently grabbed her wrist.
"Don't leave. You don't think that I don't know this won't bring them back. I am not doing all of this for them; you always had my back when I was wrongly accused of crimes. It his my turn to do the same for our friend."
Rue sighed; her head dropped as she understood his point of view. They had never really argued, but this is just a difficult time. She turned her back to her husband and stood silent, contemplating her words before she spoke.
"You have just distance yourself from us. We miss you. Look, I know this is a hard time, but you don't have to start reverting back to your 'loner' self. We have been together to long for all of this mess" her words hit home; he didn't know that he was doing it, " I am tired. Goodnight. "
The bedroom door shut, leaving the hurt man staring at the fire. He folded the map up and followed his wife. Once he was comfortable in bed, Remus pulled his wife close to his chest. He took in her scent and just held her as she slept. The feeling of guilt ran through him as memories of all the times she had been there during his transformations, sickness, poor times, hard times, and now these good ones; his grip tightened around her waist as he kept his head buried in her neck all night.
Rue woke up to a heavy snoring and a tight grip around her. She didn't bother to move, nor conceal her smile at his actions. Her breath hitched slightly when he began to stir slightly. She rolled to face him and simply relaxed against his arm. It was only a few minutes later when she met his blue eyes. Remus never said any words just kissed her roughly.
"I am so sorry; I guess I grew comfortable with you constant support."
"All is forgiven, we fought too long to let this be the end of us. I won't allow it; if you want to help Padfoot let's do this together, but it is Saturday. Rosalyn been missing her father. Take a day. Go for a walk. " She countered sweetly.
Remus smiled, " Sounds like a good plan. I still can't not believe she is four months. She still looks like her beautiful mother.", Rue blushed and buried her head in his shoulder; " let's get ready because I think an all day escape is needed." Were his final words of the bed conversation.
Rue couldn't contain her excitement as she rushed out of the bed to the shower; Remus smiled and went to get his baby girl out of the bed. He was greeted by her smile and reaching arms.
"Good morning, little one. "
She squealed as he lifted her into his arms, " I missed you just as much. " Her head laying on his shoulder was the only response he needed to complete his perfect morning, "Let's get this day started. What do you say?"
Rosalyn's happy babble made Remus chuckle, kissing her head.
