It was a rainy Tuesday morning and Monique and her sister Jada were over at David's mansion.
"What are you packing for him again?" Jada asked as she followed Monique towards David's bedroom.
"Just some of his clothes and a few other things. The doctor asked Jay to bring it over to the hospital in-case if he were to wake up anytime soon, but he had something important to do at work so he called and asked if I could do it instead. she explained briefly.
Three weeks had passed and what a long three weeks it had been. David was still in a coma, and each day that she woke up hopeful that he would wake up, it only left her feeling crush in the end. It was a cycle that had been going on for three weeks. She had decided to surpass her emotions and be strong for the people around her, more importantly Stephanie, but that didn't mean her heart still ached and broke whenever she came to the hospital to see him. She missed him like crazy that she never thought it was possible to miss someone as much as this, and her love for him was the only thin keeping her patient and going.
Monique slowly pushed open the door to his bedroom, stopping to look around for a brief moment, before heading over to his dresser to pack a few of his clothes in a bag.
"Damn" Jada murmured as she gawked around the bedroom in amazement. "Its huge and he even has a balcony, the man has taste" she said, heading towards the balcony, as Monique looked back at her and smiled. "I'm guessing you've been inside here many times, girl you even knew where his dresser was straight away".
Monique playfully rolled her eyes before turning around to face her. "A few times yeah and no I'm not gonna get into detail about what we did" she chuckled lightly.
As Jada continued to walk around the room in astonishment, Monique slowly picked up one of David's favourite ties near the side. It was the tie he wore when she first met him and on the day they first made love on her birthday. She had wished for her to grow more closer to him even if it meant that they would go through obstacles on the way. In a way she was prepared for it, but she didn't imagine it to come with this many overwhelmingly emotions.
She gripped onto the tie, and brought it closer to her chest before slowly shutting her eyes. She remained like that for a minute or two, till Jada cleared her throat, causing her to quickly snap out of her thoughts.
"You okay, Mo?" she asked worriedly.
"Uh yeah... after we're done I should show you the pool they got in their backyard, its huge" she stated, quickly changing the subject. She placed the tie back to the side, before continuing to pack some clothes in the bag.
Jada stared back at her for a brief moment, before picking up one of the pictures beside David's night stand. "Has David been fine his whole life or what?" she chuckled as Jada turned around to look at her. She placed the bag down on top of the dresser before walking over to her to look at the picture. It was a picture of David, Mellie and her husband Ted, at their College graduation, dated 'May 2002' at the bottom.
"He was in his early 20s here, he graduated Stanford business at the top of his class" said Monique, handing the picture back to her.
"You know who the other two are with him?" asked Jada.
"Yeah, that's Mellie and her husband Ted" she informed pointing down at them. "They were his best friends in College. I met them when we went to LA weeks ago, and even though she's married Mellie flirted with him throughout and David just thought she was being friendly" she scoffed, rolling her eyes at the memory.
"Baby girl, I'm sure David isn't that clueless, if they've been friends this long then he obviously knew she was flirting and just chose not to acknowledge it" said Jada, placing the picture back down on his night stand, before turning to face her. "I've had a few conversations with David and he's very smart, not just with books. He could tell what I was thinking and read me like a book. I'd always be forever grateful to him for getting me outta jail".
