It was 5:30 pm, and Monique, David and Steve were on the private jet flying back to Oakland.

Monique stood inside the small bathroom facing the mirror as she spoke to her sister on the phone. "We'll be landing in about an hour or so. I can't wait to tell you all about Aunt Janet and everything else too" Monique muttered, pushing her hair back and placing her hand on her hip.

"I can't wait too, but I'm gonna be home a little late. I'm with an old friend of mine" Jada spoke from across the phone.

"Alright, see you later. I love you" said Monique.

"I love you too Mo, land safely baby girl" she cooed, before hanging up the phone.

Monique stared down at her phone before placing it back inside her jean pocket and sighing to herself. She stared at her reflection for several more seconds, before turning around to slowly walk out the bathroom and over to her seat. She glanced over to see Steve fast asleep in his booth before turning her attention near the back to David as he sat quietly to himself, whilst gazing down the window. As he looked up to meet her gaze seconds later, she rapidly looked away and her heartbeat began to quicken.

He had told her he had fallen in love with her in a very heated moment, and ever since last night it was all she could think about. She didn't know whether to believe him, I mean how could she when she was sure he also still loved Michelle, but the look that he had in his eyes as he uttered those words to her was something she had never seen before. It transcended her, it made her overwhelmed with emotion she didn't even know she could feel, and it made her fall more and more just by one look.

Minutes later, she turned to look at David once again to see him leaning back on his seat as he gazed at her deeply, and unlike her he didn't bother to shift his gaze away.

Not being able to stop herself any longer, Monique took a deep breath before getting up from her seat and walking over to David. She stared down at him for a brief moment, before taking her seat beside him and slowly placing the side of her head on his shoulder. David peered down at her before lifting his arm to wrap it around her, allowing her to relax more into his arms. As she nuzzled closer to him, David shut his eyes and took a deep breath, tightening his grip around her. He placed a kiss on top of her head, before moving his hand down to gently rub her stomach.

Monique placed her hands down on his hard chest as she closed her eyes listening to the sound of his heart beating. Seconds later, she pushed her head back to look up at him. They didn't have to speak because the power they held in their eye-contact was enough to let them know what the other was thinking.

"You must really hate me for not being able to stay away from you" David whispered, clenching his jaw as his eyes bored into hers. He pushed her hair behind her ears and slowly ran his hand down his cheek as Monique closed her eyes to savour in his touch.

"Its me who can't seem to stay away from you, David... and I think I'm done trying to" she muttered quietly, placing her hand down on his lap.

They stared at each other not saying anything for a couple more minutes, before going back to holding onto each other, remaining like that till the jet landed.

An hour later, David was driving Monique back to her apartment.

She tightly gripped onto his hand which was placed on her thigh as she watched him focus his attention on the road, turning to glance over at her from time to time.

There was no denying what could happen with them tomorrow seeing as their love was all kind of twists and turns and a never ending roller coaster, but at that moment neither of them seemed to care. They were so comfortable just being alone with just the two of them, that the reality of things didn't seem to cross their minds, and they didn't want it to either, because they knew the reality of their love which was; pain, heartbreak and grief. This type of love was always bound to come with this reality, and it was going to take their strong bond to possibly bring them together in the end.
