It was early morning and David was driving Stephanie to School in his car.

It had been two weeks since the party at his mansion, and it had been one of the most confusing and frustrating two weeks of his life. Monique had made sure to keep her distance from him, barely uttering a word to him or glancing at him unless if it was for work related purposes only. He expected it, and he deserved it after how he had lead her on only to give her false hope, but he'd  be lying if he said that he didn't miss talking to her about anything and everything. She was the type of person where he could sit for hours and just talk to, and he missed that feeling. In one night he had managed to mess up everything between them, and he had no idea what to do to fix it.

He never worried about his feelings for Michelle still being around after a year, because he never thought that he would meet somebody again in which he felt a spark with. But even if they felt a connection with each other, nothing was bound to go further between them due to one person, and that one person being Michelle

He turned to glance down at Stephanie who sat beside him in the passenger's seat, before fixating his attention back on the road tiredly. He felt as if he had almost become invisible in her eyes, not realising the deep feelings she harboured for him in her heart. Even though she distanced herself away from him, at least he got to see her everyday for five days a week, even if it was only for a couple seconds or when she brought files up to his office.

"Alright, we're here sweetie" David spoke, pulling up in front of Stephanie's elementary school, as the two quickly stepped out of the car.

"Don't forget about parent teacher conference next week, Daddy" she smiled, as he slowly crouched down to her height, before pushing the hair out of her face.

"I won't, baby" he whispered, turning around to look around at all the parents dropping their kids off.

"You look really tired, Daddy. Please don't overwork yourself today again so you can come home and get some rest" the little girl sighed, whilst gently running her hands through his hair.

"Don't worry about me baby, I'll be fine" he assured, before flashing her a warm smile. "So where's that girl you were telling me you liked, is she around here anywhere? I wanna meet her" he asked, continuing to look around the place.

Stephanie covered her face in embarrassment before speaking up. "Stop Daddy... and she's over there" she replied, pointing over to Jasmine, who waved goodbye to her mom, before turning to look in her direction.

"Arthur Sullivan's daughter, huh? I had no idea it was her" he muttered.

"I invited her to play after School tomorrow, promise me you won't say anything then, Daddy, you have to promise" she pleaded taking a step closer to him and wrapping her arm around his shoulders.

"When was the last time I embarrassed you? I promise I won't say anything alright" he chuckled lightly. "I just can't believe my baby girl's got her first crush" he cooed as she stared at him admiringly. When she had first told him about her crush on a girl, he had reacted just like any normal parent when they find about their kids first crushes, completely accepting of the fact that it was with a girl, and it was one of the many reasons why she loved and appreciated him.

"Alright, I gotta get to work now, have a great day at school" he spoke up, whilst glancing down at his watch.

"I will. See you later, Daddy, and say hello to Monique for me" she grinned widely, pecking him on the cheek, before clutching onto her backpack and running off. If she only knew how difficult it would be to do that, seeing as Monique basically wanted nothing to do with him any longer.
