Several days had quickly gone past and it was the day that David was being discharged from the hospital.

Pulling up at his compound, Mellie quickly stepped out the drivers seat to help David out the backseat as Stephanie followed. With the help of his crutch, they slowly helped him out as he tried not to wince at the amount of pain he was still in. Ever since he woke up several days ago, he felt as if he was getting weaker with each breath he took, and that was mostly to do with the fact that he had almost died. There was a very low chance of his survival due to how severe the crash was, and the thought of that made him go into a state of mind in which he didn't like.

"We're almost inside, David" Mellie spoke wrapping her arms around him, as she slowly helped him inside. "Steph, grab your father's bag dear" she said and Stephanie nodded before going to do as told.

As they arrived inside the mansion, they led David over to the living room sofa. Once he slummed back and shut his eyes, a vision of when he had gotten in the crash rapidly raced through his mind, causing him to instantly open his eyes back, sighing to himself afterwards.

"How are you feeling, David?" Mellie questioned as she sat beside him and placed her hand on his lap.

"I'll be fine, I always am" he muttered, flashing her a weak smile, before turning his attention to Stephanie who shut the living room door before turning around to smile over at him.

Mellie grasped through his bandaged arm and ribs, whilst eyeing him up closely to check for any discomfort. "I'll go put the bag upstairs in your room and make a few calls, sit here and get some rest I'll be back" she said, gently rubbing his shoulders before getting up to head up the stairs.

Stephanie watched her go up the stairs till she was out of sight, before hurrying to sit beside David. She gently and carefully placed her head on his shoulder, and he non-hesitantly wrapped his arms around her, stroking her hair along the way. "I thought that you might never wake up daddy, Monique was more worried than I was, but we had hope" the little girl uttered, as David quickly froze at the sound of Monique's name, before shaking it off seconds later to flash her a reassuring smile. Stephanie eyed some of his bruises closely whilst sighing to herself. She knew that he was still suffering with pain and trauma from almost dying, but he still hid it all when he was around her and kept a brave face.

"I promise sweetheart that I will never leave you or let myself to be taken away from you, you're my everything... just remember daddy will always love you" he whispered, before placing a kiss on her forehead, causing a smile to quickly appear back on her face.

"I love you too" she giggled nuzzling up closer to him. "I'll go make you some coffee, maybe it might get your strength up a little" she leaned up to place a quick kiss on his cheek before hoping of the sofa.

David smiled weakly as she hurried of towards the kitchen, before reaching inside his pockets to bring out his phone. He scrolled through his contacts, stopping at Monique's name before holding it up to his ear as it started to ring, and just like all his other tries for the past couple days she had refused to answer once again.

Sighing deeply to himself, he threw his phone to the side and slowly lifted his hand up to run down his face before pushing his head back. He wasn't sure why she was ignoring and avoiding him and why she had refused to see him ever since he woke up, especially seeing that she was there each day in the hospital when he was in a coma. He felt angry and a little hurt, but most of all he just wanted to see her, even if it was just a glimpse of her, but no matter how many times he called her or left her a text message, she didn't seem to answer, and it only left him feeling more confused and annoyed each time.

Seconds later, Stephanie strolled out the kitchen holding onto a glass of water, with her smile slowly disappearing as she saw the look of distress and anguish on David's face. "D-Did Monique not pick up her phone again?" she asked walking over to hand the phone to him.
