~Two years later~
They say that time flies by when you're living the best life that you possibly could without worry of anything. With each day that goes past, you eagerly wait for the next. Nothing could ruin the good and happiness in your life, especially since you've waited to feel this way for a very long time.
The day was August 6th and it was the morning of David's birthday. Him and Monique laid in their bed asleep and cuddled up together. These past two years have been eventful for the both of them. They had been through the good, the bad and stuck by each other during the way. Nobody had expected them to last this long. They all thought that Monique was simply a fling for David due to their age difference, but they were quickly proven wrong.
To say that things have been easy for them throughout their relationship so far would be an understatement. Just three months ago, Monique had suffered a miscarriage, resulting in them losing their baby. It was a very difficult time for the both of them as they looked forward to his birth more than anything, but things just weren't in their favour. Even though the pregnancy wasn't planned at first, it still hurt to think about their loss from time to time, they always remembered that they had each other and it would bring them great joy to remember how much they loved each other despite everything.
Over the course of the past two years, Monique had decided to go back to College to study business and marketing, in order to open up her small business once she graduates, and David and the company was still thriving as he had opened up a few buildings around California.
Moments later, David slowly opened his eyes and yawned quietly, before peering down at Monique who was still fast asleep on his bare chest. He smiled to himself as he gently ran his fingers through her hair. It was safe to say that she was simply the best thing to ever him in so many ways that he could've ever imagined and he never expected himself to admit that seeing as he never expected to find a love so powerful after Michelle.
He placed a soft kiss on her head as his hands slowly travelled down her bareback, which caused her to open her eyes and giggle. "Good, you're awake" he chuckled in his deep raspy morning voice as she climbed on top of him to place a big kiss on his lips.
"Yup, its just another normal day, nothing special about today at all" she teased, placing her hand down on his chest. David playfully rolled his eyes away, before quickly grabbing her waist and flipping her over so he was on top.
"Oh really?" he smirked, flicking his eyes down to her lips.
Monique smirked back up at him, before quickly escaping from under him and climbing out the bed. She threw on a tank top and some shorts before turning her attention back to David. "Yes, in fact I'm gonna go inside the bathroom and have a normal shower, because like I said its just a normal day" she said sending him a wink, before turning to head towards the bathroom. "Its not like nobody's celebrating anything".
David chuckled lightly to himself, before getting out of bed. He crossed his arms as both he and Monique tried to hold their laughs inside. "If you go inside that bathroom, then I'll just forget all about you in a second" he teased, slowly walking towards her.
"Oh really?" she scoffed, arching her brow at him.
"Mhm" he replied. "You mean nothing to me, its not as if you're my whole world and the love of my life" he whispered, before slowly pulling her closer and wrapping his arms around her waist.
Monique grinned up at him before getting on her tip toes and throwing her arms around him. "Its not as if you're my whole world and the love of my life too, David Morris" she muttered.
They stared into each other's eyes for a brief while, before they finally broke exploding with laughter afterwards. David picked her up and wrapped her legs around his waist before leading her over to the balcony.
