Immediately waking up to the sound of my alarm clock, I quickly shuffle through the room brushing my teeth and untamed hair.

Rushing down the stairs, I look below to see my family's disappointed looks

"You're late." My father says in a disappointed tone,

"I'm not surprised." Victoria scoffs while rolling her obnoxious eyes.

"Give her a break, but I hope that won't happen again. Right?" Mother said with a fierce look.

"Right." I whispered, lowering my head.

"It's not her fault, Victoria changed her ala-" said Violetta, but quickly gets cut off.

"Enough!" My father voice booms across the dining room.

They all looked uneasy; Mother kept giving me side looks. While dad had his jaw clenched and Victoria my evil sister had a stupid, smug look towards me the entire time. Violetta was just as confused as I was.

Father kept exchanging hushed whispers with mother, as they would peer at me. Which led me to realize that they were hiding something, I needed to find out tonight.

A few hours after breakfast, I excitedly put on my sports bra and leggings and drove to the gym for my private training session with Gabriella. She's my best friend since Kindergarten, I call her Gabby and she calls me Val. As we were training, I explained what happened this morning at breakfast.

"I agree that is suspicious." Gabriella says while nodding her head.

"I will find out what they're hiding." I reply.

-----------------------------------------------------

As I was driving home, my mother called.

"Are you coming home now?!" she asked frantically.

"No. Why?" I asked.

"Nothing. Bye." She rushed and hung up.

I lied and knew she was up to something. I drove into the driveway and quietly entered the house. I could hear a heated conversion from my Father's office, as I pressed my ear against the door. Only making out a few words, I heard an unfamiliar male's voice. Furrowing my brows, I wondered what they were talking about and who was there.

"When should we introduce Zayd to her?" my father asks.

"She's going to be stubborn about the thought of marriage." my mother warns.

"My son will too, his trust issues are worse with women." an unfamiliar voice said.

Everything finally connected and made sense. The hushed whispers, glances, and suspicious phone call.

Silently running up to my room, I took a second to process what was going on before starting to pack my clothing and other necessities.

I ran out the back door and drove away. Then stopped at the side of a deserted road and pulled out my phone. Looking for the nearest flight times, the latest was a one-way to Japan which I booked.

Sitting in in the waiting area of the airport, I tried to keep my thoughts on pause and just drink my black coffee. The loudspeaker came on and announced my flight that would be boarding in 15 minutes. Quickly getting up, I handed them my ticket and sat by a window seat. Who is Zayd? Does he know about this or was he as clueless as I was?

Tears pierce my eyes as I try to keep my emotions in, leaning against the window, I try to get some sleep.
