Valencia POV
Jisoo freezes beside me, as I turn to follow her gaze.
"What's wrong?" I ask.
I notice her eyeing to a hooded man, walking behind us.
"Who's that?" She asks with fear in her voice.
"It's beyonce." I said jokingly with an eye roll.
Girl, I don't know! Let's just go." I say.
Jisoo looks out of it for a second before her eyes widen with realization.
"Val, that's Zayd!" She whispers loudly.
Attracting attention from the hooded man, he looks up and slowly pulls his hood down. The light shining under the streetlight reflects onto his face as we make eye contact. He seemed surprised and I make my way to him.
"Are you Zayd? The guy I was supposed to marry without my consent?!" I shout angrily.
"Oh, this is gonna get good." Jisoo amusingly says, behind me.
"Woah woah, calm down buttercup. I didn't want this either. I came here because I had a feeling you weren't dead." he says holding his arms up in defense.
"Then, why are you following me?!" I ask in a rude tone.
"Damn. Don't portray me as an obsessive freak. I was going to get some food and heard my name." He says.
"Oh and your young sister is dating my best friend." He adds.
"Although, this conversation has taken an interesting twist. You guys are making a scene." She says with a grin.
"Well I was heading out to eat anyway, wanna join?" He asks.
Jisoo and I share a look but end up agreeing, as we walk to the sushi bar together.
"You know, this was the exact spot that we got attacked." She says out of the blue.
Zayd freezes, "Are you guys okay? Are you hurt?" he asks with a worried tone.
"We're obviously not hurt." I say while rolling my eyes.
"Yeah because Valencia went all kung fu panda on them and they ended up running away." Jisoo adds.
"I didn't know you could fight?" He says eyeing me.
"There's many things that you don't know about me." I answer.
He shrugs and says, "I know, but I just didn't expect you could also fight."
"I was raised in the mafia, what'd you expect? Some ditzy little princess who relies on her parents?" I reply, raising an eyebrow.
He laughs, as we walk in the sushi bar.
---------------------------- Zayd POV---------------------------
Leaning back on my chair, I watched Valencia and Jisoo talk to each other as they ate. Deep in thought, I think "Who could've tried to attack them? And why?"
"Earth to Zayd!...Hello?...Zayd!" Jisoo says, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Huh?" I say.
"How did you found out where Valencia was? And how did you even have a feeling that she was alive?" Jisoo asks.
Valencia crosses her arms and leans back in her chair, her eyes narrowing.
"When I first met your sister, Victoria-"
"How do you know Victoria, again?" Valencia cuts off while tilting her head.
I sigh, rolling my eyes and smirking. "I was getting to that part."
"Sorry." She squeaks, her cheeks reddening.
"Anyways, I met Victoria by my friend Jaxxon, who he introduced to me a couple of days ago. She seemed a bit off, when we met, she-"
"How off, did she look suspicious?" She cuts in again.
"She spoke about you with a fake tone of pity, but emotionless eyes." I say.
She lowers her eyes, as she slumps further down her chair.
"My friend bought the act, but I knew it was all an act. So, I searched her up, and find the history of your family and it's bloodline. I-"
"Woah, stalker alert." Jisoo cuts in, chuckling.
I glare at her and continue "As I was saying, I see the name "Valencia Moretti", making me realize that you were the girl I was supposed to marry." Softening my voice, as I look straight at her eyes.
She immediately looks away and turns her head.
"Finding out about you, something lured me to find out about your sudden death and disappearance. Which led me coming here and seeing you." I say, as we connect eyes again.
Jisoo awkwardly coughs, breaking the tension. Valencia instantly turns to her, as I sigh and call for the waitress.
After paying, we all got up and left the sushi bar. Starting to go our separate ways, Valencia's voice stops me from turning.
"Wait." She says.
I turn my head, the moonlight reflecting the color of her eyes. Brown to a hazel, as we connect eyes once again.
"Yes?"
"Why'd you look for me? You would've been better off without me." She says, her eyes roaming around the dim street before reaching mine again.
I freeze then shrug, "I don't know, something tempted me to find out who you really were."
She stares at me with an expressionless face, then nods her head.
"Valencia, let's go!" Jisoo shouts.
"I'm coming!" She yells back, sighing she gives me one last look then turns around.
I stare at her, as she walks off in the pitch black night.
