Double update? I think so!
___
I left everything. My clothes, Mak, and Harry, are all left behind.
The private plane is much emptier now that I'm alone. Although I'm very grateful to Mak and Harry for arranging for the plane a whole day early. Mak stayed behind to get all of our things together but she'd be catching another plan in a few hours.
My knee could not stop bouncing.
I knew this would happen. Something bad would happen to the baby and probably my mom too. I'm not ready to depart with my mom just yet, and as much as I hate to admit it, I don't want to see that baby hurt either.
To be honest, that whole situation nearly slipped my mind while I was dealing with my own drama. How selfish is that? I forgot about my pregnant 52 year old mother and her unborn child because of boy drama?
I tried to call my mother but she hasn't been answering, and same thing with my father. Every time their phones go to voicemail, I get closer to a full on freak out.
The two hour plane ride feels like ten, but when we land, my Uber ride to the hospital felt like seconds. As soon as we pull up to the front doors of the hospital I jump out of the car and rush inside. The lady at the front desk looks extremely bored as I approach frantically.
"My mother. Shannon Miller. She came in a few hours ago. What room is she in?" The words fumble out of my mouth in a rush. She looks up at me with no particular look of concern on her face.
"And you are?" She asks. Her phrasing and tone made me want to sucker punch her throat.
"Her daughter. It's something about her baby. Room? Please?"
"Do you have some sort of identification to prove your relations?" She looks at her computer and I start to fumble through my pockets but groan when I realize my mistake.
I left everything in Cali.
"No I don't, please it's an emergency. Do I look like someone who lies about this kinda stuff?" I point to myself but she doesn't even look up at me.
"Sorry. Can't help." Her simple response sends me over the edge. I tug at the roots of my hair and turn around in hopes of steering myself away from smashing her face into the keyboard. As soon as I turn around I smash My own face into a broad chest. The scent is familiar.
I look up and am actually relieved to see Harry standing before me, holding my wallet. He looks down at me nervously, waiting for my response.
"I, just thought you might need this so-"
"Shut up." I cut him off by sealing my lips over his in a quick passionate embrace. I was never so happy to see him and never so willing to put this stuff all behind us.
I part from him and he looks surprised to say the least.
"What about your concert tonight?" I question. He shrugs.
"That doesn't matter right now."
He's right. Get your head straight.
I spin back around to the annoying lady at the desk.
"Ma'am." I place my ID on the desk. She looks up at it and takes it before verifying it's authenticity.
"Room 134b on the maternity ward." Her monotone voice drowns out as soon as I hear the room number. People walk past my jogging body and I realize Harry isn't following me. I push the elevator button before turning around. I see his silhouette walking towards the exit.
