Luke.
The second those beautiful, euphonious words left her pink lips, it was like my life had put itself back together, the butterflies unbearably bearable and I felt like I wanted to fall from the sky, having my fingertips touch the clouds and to see the ground beneath me get closer and closer.
She made things ironically unclear; and I didn't ever want anything to make sense.
"Really?" I mused, probably sounding like a dork as she laughed sweetly, tilting her head back and I had the sudden urge to place my lips on her neck; to feel the soft skin that I had yet to explore - only if she'd let me, of course.
"Yes, really," she pushed me again with her shoulder, only this time I swiftly stood from my position, standing in front of her and grabbing the back of her folded knees to carry her small body to the edge of the bed. She giggled uncontrollably - as in actual barks of loud, natural laughter - as I towered over her, placing each of my hands by her shoulders.
"I love you," I placed a kiss on her nose.
"I love you," A kiss on the side of her temple, as I gripped the side of her jaw gently.
"I," A kiss on her cheek.
"Love," A kiss on her chin.
"You." And finally, one on the corner of her mouth, as October tried to tilt her head towards my lips, but I pulled away, brushing my 'skate ramp' nose against the tip of hers.
"Well I can flare my nostrils," she stated seriously, crinkling the sides of her nose in attempt to prove her so-called "skill", but failed as she looked like she was about to sneeze. After a few tries, she stopped, leaning upwards slightly to kiss me once again. "Oh, and I love you. A lot."
"You don't know how amazing it sounds hearing those words come from your mouth," I mumbled against her lips, feeling my breath's pace start to heighten slightly. "And that's not flaring your nostrils; you just look like you're about to sneeze."
"Does not."
"Does to."
"Does not."
"Does to. I love you." I released my hands that were planted next to her waist, pressing all of my body weight against hers.
"Luke, get the fuck off of me. I was only gone for three days," she wheezed dramatically, pushing against my shoulders as I hugged her torso tightly, nuzzling my face onto her stomach.
"And I didn't enjoy those days. Plus, I love you, and I felt like a piece of me was missing." Her stomach made a funny noise, and I shook my ear against her torso, the fabric muffling against the side of my head. "Your stomach is doing a digesting thing."
"I'm tired."
"Well, I'm not. And you just got back, so we have to spend a lot of intimate moments with one another." I finally gave in to all of her pushing, plopping down next to her as I held her hand, sneaking my fingers between hers.
"I am tired." She yawned grumpily, turning to her side as she brought her knees to her chest. "G'night."
"You didn't have dinner, yet."
"I ate on the plane."
I sighed, sitting up and pushing my body towards her, spooning her from behind as I tried to kiss her cheeks by hiding my face next to hers.
"You're so cuddly," she beamed in awe, flipping on her back and pushing my face away. "Yuck. I don't like blonde giants."
"I love you."
"I love you. Why do you keep saying that?"
"Because it's true," I switched my position to a crisscross applesauce, rocking back and forth on my bum. "And I shall not stop."
"Don't stop saying it," she replied quietly, pulling herself up and sitting on my lap, her feet hitting my lower back.
Fuck. Did she have to sit this way?
I felt my breath hitch, as October's gentle fingers traced my jaw - which was lined with a thin surface of stubble, due to the key situation back at my apartment - her fingertips stopping halfway and trailing down the side of my neck.
I groan quietly, the grumbling coming from the back of my throat as she then trailed her fingers to the skin around my ear as I brought my hands securely around her waist, pulling her even closer.
"Don't sleep just yet," I mutter into her ear, tracing her cheek with the tip of my nose as she dropped her head, her eyes fluttering close and I place a kiss on her jaw. "Not just yet."
And that was when the sudden need for her hit me straight in the jaw; the urge to feel how she would be positioned underneath my body, and I know we've been in that position before but it was more of quality over quantity; and what we would be doing is all that mattered.
These thoughts weren't something that I could really control; and I don't think I wanted to.
"'M gonna get something to eat, now that you mentioned it, I am pretty hungry," she chuckled, sliding off of my lap and skipping out the door. Damn her.
I slid my tongue across the top row of my teeth, a smirk making its way upon my lips as I got off the bed and followed her towards the walk-in kitchen.
Her back was towards me, as she bounced on her feet while making herself a bowl of cereal, even though it was seven in the evening.
Sometimes I just didn't get her.
"Hey, October? Can I ask you something random?"
"I don't have any more Cinnamon Toast Crunch. What am I supposed to do with my life, now?"
"October."
"Oh, sorry. Yeah, what is it?" As she spun around I strode towards her just as quickly, our bodies inches away as she looked up to meet my eyes.
"Remember that day when I gave up smoking?"
"Yeah?"
"And we had a small conversation before I left?"
She shot me a confused look, her bottom lip jutted out. "Uhm, yes? Why're we talking about this?"
I snickered, averting my attention to my hand that trailed down her arm slowly, watching as the goose-bumps rose upon her skin. I heard her gulp, which only motivated my confidence.
"You told me you weren't a virgin, and I told you that neither was I, remember?"
October pinched her lips together, her breath uneven as she answered, "Y-yes."
I grinned smugly down at her, as I played with her wrist, her fingers in my reach. "Good."
"Why's that a good thing?"
"Because," I push at her lower hips gently, her back hitting the counter as she gasped softly. "There wouldn't be a need to make anything 'slow' and 'special', anymore." And with that, I crashed my lips to hers, both our paces equivalent, as we both knew where this was headed to next.
