Chapter 6 ~ The Man

Ashley's POV

"HE DID WHAT?!"

I nodded. We were all sitting around the dining table discussing Kye and Chantelle. Honestly I still couldn't believe that the FBI didn't pick this up in the first place.

"Look, we should at least think of what to do here!"

That's Piper always trying to get down to business. I just needed to think about what to do next.

"It's only 4.30. How's up for a workout. It helps me think!"

"I'm in!"

"Me too. It's been ages since I've had a good run."

"Yup lets go!"

"Be in the car in 15"

I went to my run and pulled on sports pants that said "Let's do it" on the side and a sports bra that read "I ❤️ working out". I knew it was cheesy but oh well. I put on my favourite nikes that were all Tiffany blue and took off all my makeup.

I went to the car and met Bailey in the hall way. He looked so hot in a normal shirt and shorts with his Adidas sneakers. We got in Baileys 4WD with Piper in the drivers seat Seth I. The passengers seat and Bailey and I in the back seats.

We drove into a park at the gym and hopped out. I grabbed Baileys hand and we walked in silence into the gym. I had my turquoise water bottle in hand and my hair in a high ponytail.

Piper was in a similar outfit to me. She had a plain black sports bra and sports pants on with her favourite fluro pink new balance sneakers on. She had on a light foundation and her hair was in a messy top knot. Seth had on a plain shirt and shorts with black nikes.

We checked in and I went over to the treadmill with The others.

"Wanna have a competition?"

That was Bailey, always up for a challenge.

"How so?"

"Whoever goes the longest at a jog without stopping wins and whoever stops first gets to shout us all Starbucks after this."

We all agreed on the challenge and hopped onto the treadmills. We agreed the set pace was 4.5km/h and got started. Adrenaline pumped through me as I saw the distance on the treadmill go up to 1km. It went so fast, I was sweating like a horse when I hit 3km. The first to drop out was Piper.

"Aw hon. We needa work on your stamina over the next couple of weeks!"

Seth said sweetly to Piper. They were legit the cutest couple I've ever known. I thought it was about time I started trash talking them.

"Hey ! Can you keep going, you look a bit tired. You sure you don't wanna drop out?"

Seth just looked me and gave me the same glance - the glance of adrenaline and the ability to win at all costs.

"Keep talking yourself up babe. We all know who's the real man here!"

They all knew that during my past I had done a lot of training on stamina to get my strength back and often called me a man. Which I was fine with obviously.

"And that would be me!"

I said with a wink. I turned on my side to face him and did grape vine to stay with him.

"Can you do this?"

"Oh please we both know - oh shit!"

He had just been torn off the treadmill and started laughing.

"Guess I can't!"

He said between laughed. I looked at Bailey and he was in fits on giggles and he kept running.

"Just you and me now baby! Can you keep it up?"

"I don't know! I'm kinda a bit puffed out. How about we call it a day and you let me win!?"

"Haha very funny! You know me better than that! Try again!"

His hair was messy and he was sweating all over. I couldn't imagine what I looked like at the moment.

"Ok... Just between you and me, you could play dead!"

"Ahhh... NO! I think the only way to settle this is like men. Let's turn these up 1km and see how we go!"

"Ok then only if your prepared to loose!"

We went for 15 more minutes and I was close to death. But I wasn't giving up, I knew Bailey would give up though.

"Ok I give up you win!"

Bailey got off and dropped to the ground. 1 and 1/2 hours of jogging. How did I do it? I dropped to the ground next to Bailey. He rolled over to face me, putting his hand on mine and his other hand on my cheek. I had to say something.

"That was hot. I like you even more now!"

"Awwwwwww!"

We looked over at Piper and laughed. She'd ruined the moment. Bailey turned back to me to speak.

"I already like you even more everyday I'm around you."

We moved closer and our lips brushed together. He pulled me up off the ground. He said.

"Your the man!"
